Is there any way to "Free up" your old Nickname? I don't care if they ban my old account, but I want to use the nickname again. It says in-game it's unavailable despite the fact the account can't log in

Email the plebs Niantic and tell them to delete or change that account name

So my point is if i now have 4 accounts all with the same exact nickname i don't think that is any indication of a permanent ban i think that will be if we go to make a new Pokemon Trainer Club account with an alleged banned username and it allows it

How is it possible? when you pick your in-game nickname did it not say "this name is unavailable" ? all names have to be unique?

Just update my situation. I am crazy I know, just one account.

Botted from 11 to 32 just using Necrobot. Teleported much times from Central Park to Tokyo Disneyland to Italy.
145/151 of Pokedex.
220 pokecoins.
Some snipes from Pokesniper 2.0 to complete my pokedex.
Sniping on the last 4 days from Necrobot.
Always used from 20 to 80 km/h as walking speed.
Never used IV calculators and Joysticks.

Banned from Friday 18.00 till now that its Monday 22.00. I see the ban after a long (12hrs) Necrobot 0.8.5 session.
I believe that its a permaban. No hope. However my nickname still exist, can't use it on a new account so it's not lost but just banned.

Just created a new account botting now with Pokefarmer at 20k/hrs exp. Biking (21km/hr), sometimes walking (3 km/h) or jogging (10km/hr). Now I'm lvl 10. Hope to get my old account back anyway, it was really good set.

I logged into some of my just for fun accounts and with the latest update you can edit your nickname once...i named them all the exact same no longer required to be unique... your trainer club account is a different story if i try to make a new trainer club with the allegedly banned username it tells me name is taken

But that's exactly what I tried. I used the change nickname feature and set my old nickname that's already taken and it said it was not available. I don't see how it's possible? is there a trick to it?

I am not sure i just went through the change nickname process in game and it worked if I try to use that name for a new Pokemon Trainer Club account it sais its in use

I am not sure i just went through the change nickname process in game and it worked if I try to use that name for a new Pokemon Trainer Club account it sais its in use

Did you make new accounts and then changed their nicknames? or did you try to change the nicknames of accounts you already had?

What I did was:
1. create new ptc
2. log in
3. pick whatever random nickname
4. try to change the nickname with the feature
5. it tells me that nickname is already taken

I really doubt you were able to do this unless you did some other step?

So, I got hit in the recent ban wave, then I appealed and I got unbanned since the decided to accept what I wrote in my appeal.
However, are they retarded, or is this just a proof that they actually flag account and manually reviews them? That would be a possibility if, in fact, my account remained flagged even after getting unbanned, because I obviously stopped hacking after getting perma banned once, smh...
Anyways, my new ban hit me about 30 minutes ago, and I'm sure I can convince them to unban me again, but still... Niantic doesn't seem to have the situation under control at all...

Anyone else who appealed and got unbanned have a similar story to share? My account is lvl 33 and got several 100% IV Pokemon.
