He probably repped you before, not long ago, he needs to spread around rep. +2 rep for ya though.
2 rep if you can answer this question.
I was hacked today, and I logged in while the person was just starting. They cleaned out one of my chars halfway, and were flying the other char to town (because teleporting is so hard?). I am in the process of reporting this, and getting my items back. Will this person get IP banned?

Blizzard cannot take any legal action against you for hosting a private server, as long as you don't request money from the players or/and don't use Blizzard's own third-party software.
Blizzard cannot take any legal action against you for using a third-party software that effect WoW.exe. However your World of Warcraft account may close due to interactive third-party software from client side network and/or third-party client side program of any kind.
Blizzard may use a third-party software on client side, spyware and/or any other third-party program, restricted to only read WoW.exe and/or any other third-party program related to WoW.exe.
What private servers don't use Blizzard's software?
Private servers are in violation of the law. Hosting one puts you in violation of copyright laws.

What will happen to them? Nothing.
Account security is your own responsibility, first off.
Second off, there's really nothing else they can do. Think about it.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I didn't read more than the first and last pages. How often do people who Glide (As far as you know) get banned without prior warning? My friend says he's gotten warned like 10 times but never banned, and suggests I Glide, and if the chances of getting a ban without a warning or suspension first aren't too high, I'm greatly considering it. I really wouldn't mind a suspension, even a 72 hour one. I just don't want a ban.

+Rep for helping me getting my mage back over MSN![]()
I'd say that often, people receive an instant permanent ban if they're caught botting, even if they have no previous offenses. I'd say maybe 50-60% of the time.
If you do not get a permanent account closure for using Glider, you would certainly get a 72 hour suspension and a final warning, and the next time you use it it would definitely be a ban.
Your friend is either lying or you're misunderstanding him. He may be using Glider to get honor, which results in less harsh punishments. But if you use Glider for outdoor farming/leveling, always expect permanent account closure. Always. Because the chances are pretty damn good it'll happen.

awesome guide. lots of useful info
Alright, I've completely removed the Question & Answer part as it was taking up too much space. I've added a lot of new content to the account unbanning part, and it is now pretty much as finished as it'll ever be.
Please read it, especially the new text I added in turquoise.
