Hey, my friend just got my char banned for making a guild with a "highly sexually innapropriate guild name" I got an email saying I'm suspended, and I've never had a ban before, yet when I log in it says the account is closed.

Do you know what type of ban I will most likely be receiving? I got an email from blizz saying they are doing further investigations :.

That's strange. It's possible that you got that email in error. I'd recommend you go to the WoW Europe In-Game Customer Support Forum, found here: WoW-Europe.com Forums -> In-Game Customer Support.

Make a thread there with another account or a friend's account (but don't say you're on a friend's account, as sharing accounts is forbidden), and explain that you're not sure if it's closed or suspended. In the post, give the name and realm of the account in question (the account that was suspended or closed). This allows a GM to do a search of the char and realm and see the account, and then see what's up. Don't give the account name, though, just the char name/realm.

Ouch, the database rollback caused some things to be lost, but I think I re-added most of them.

Also, as you can see, I had to significantly cut the Q & A, as the guide reached the character limit very quickly.

I suppose I won't have an official Q & A anymore, but I'm still taking questions.

Anyone else got any questions??

Blizzard can close your account for any reason they want. If an Account Admin's fruit punch was too sour, they can ban it. If their dog threw up, they can ban it. They rarely, rarely, RARELY ever do this though. The point is just that they CAN.

first of all, thank you very much for this very useful guide! I've been spending a lot of time in the offical WoW forums and google, reading how people get banned and some of them unbanned. Suprisingly entertaining to read. Your guide made things little more clearer.

Now I'm suspended and my case is a little tricky. Couldn't find anyone else with similiar problem. This was my third suspension.

1. suspension

Type of Violation: Use of Prohibited Third Party software
Consequences for Account: Account Suspension for 3 days (72 hours) and warning placed on the account

2. suspension

Type of violation: Wall-jumping
Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours

So I used 3d party software but it was only for fun. No one was harmed nor did I get any unfair advantage out of it. And the wall-jumping... hopped over the fence in AB before the game started.

3. suspension

This one is weird. Used "speedhack" in WSG (stupid) which led us to victory and now I'm under investigation because of it. I think normally I would have been suspended for 3 days or permanently banned (due the previous suspensions) straight but instead I'm under investigation which is mostly done if account has been compromised, right?

What makes it even more weird, I have recieved two emails. First one of the two contained this:

Type of Violation: Extreme Exploitation
Consequences for Account: Account Suspended pending investigation

BUT with wrong account name! Gm messed up or something? Sender [email protected].

And the second from [email protected]:

We are sending you this email to inform you that we have temporarily
suspended your World of Warcraft account *****. Actions taken on
this account are now being investigated. We will contact you again, once
this has been concluded.

Account management says "Suspended". When I try to log in the game, it says something like "This WoW account has been locked and is no longer available for use". Well you know it anyway.


So what I want to point out here is that I'm under investigation for using 3rd party program. Does it mean they couldn't decide yet will they ban me or not? And what do you think, will it be perm ban or 3 day suspension and final warning? The processing time is 3 weeks so would like to have some kind of idea what's gonna happen. Though I'm on the EU side.

Send an email to [email protected] and say that you received a penalty but the account name wasn't yours. And then, say that you received 2 emails, one from [email protected] and one from [email protected], both with different penalties. Ask which penalty is the one you actually received.

And suspended pending investigation is an EU thing. They just do that whenever they feel like they need to investigate further. It is not only done for comprimised accounts, on EU.

On US it's a bit different.

So, yeah, you'll really want to begin dialogue with [email protected]; they should fix up their mistake and hopefully give you the right penalty.

And I'm curious...what speedhack did you use, and where did you get it? Last time I checked, every speedhack was detected by Warden. But then again, I didn't look too carefully.

It's Cheat Engine 5.4. Been using it for 2 or 3 weeks on daily basis. Mainly for getting from place to place fast. In bursts of 5-10 min, like 10 times a day. Also how fast I go didn't seem to affect on getting detected.

Other way is to use Awwe's XYZ. Mount up, change height, unmount -> DC, log back in = you can run at the same speed as your mount can. Used this in like 20 Eots games for flag carrying and sometimes in WSG. Not to mention wall-jumping always when I could. Don't they know how to report!

But now I went a bit too far, it was 2 min WSG but at least it was fun... I guess.

Even if the time is long, it's a good idea to send it anyway. Trust me. The extra penalty may be inadvertently taken into account the next time you break the rules, and it may result in you getting an account closure when you really shouldn't have.

It would appear they use 3rd party programs to farm and just clear your account out.

But I sent a request using your template as a rough guide.

As long as you said you found a keylogger, named the keylogger, and that you think it was a hacker, then there's a fairly good chance you'll be unbanned.

False. Accounts that are closed (banned) stay banned for all eternity, unless you manage to unban them using my method. If your account is closed and you never contest it, the account will be closed until the end of time.
