The hunter is one of the oldest classes in history. They represent a deep connection between man and beast, and the hunters of Warcraft are not merely individuals who track animals and slay them for food, but custodians of balance. They understand the natural circle of life and death, and the part they must play in maintaining it not simply as researchers, but as active participants. The Hunt is venerated, and the prey they choose to stalk is given as much respect as the predators hunters choose to learn from and embody. All hunters create lifelong friendships with animal companions, who are also often their best and only friends, if the stereotype of the reclusive huntsman is to be believed. Hunters come in all shapes, forms, sizes and specialties, but in the World of Warcraft, all hunters specialize to be marksmen. Hunters are a curious mix of mysticism and rough wildness know-how. They can learn to mystically align themselves with the aspects of various animals to assist them: the spryness of a Monkey, the sharp eyes of a Hawk, the swiftness of a Cheetah and gift themselves with a higher resistance against the dangers of the most important thing of all in the rites of a hunter -- the very Wilds he and his prey live in. Hunters also derive a system of hand-to-hand combat inspired by the attacks and counterattacks of various animals, and use magically empowered traps to maim and snare their prey. They have various shots imbued with magic or explosives to snare, poison, handicap and disorient their targets. They can even hold their breath and slow their heartbeat to a highly infrequent, inconsequential tap to give their pursuers the impression that they are dead.

The hunter is the choice of life for those who reject societies that oppress our roles in the natural role as prey and hunter, and also reject the druidic stance that we should be healers and observers rather than active participants in the Great Hunt. Theirs is a life of reverence for nature as well as the willingness to use man-made tools. We are tool-using creatures after all, and it is only natural to use that advantage afforded by nature to be better hunters, though there are also many hunters who prefer a more direct approach to tracking and hunting.

    As for Druids-

We are the preservers of the balance, now and forever, as Malfurion lies in the Dreaming. Never forget this
    . - Kal of Dolanaar

Druids walk the path of nature, following the wisdom of the Ancients and healing and nurturing the world. To a druid, nature is a delicate balance of actions, in which even the smallest imbalance can create storming turmoil from peaceful skies. Druids draw their power from this wild energy, using it to change their shapes and command the forces of nature.

Druids are the keepers of the world, followers of the demigod Cenarius who have been granted the shapeshifting ability, healing powers and even some control over nature itself.

    Re: Ask Lore Questions Here

    I have a few questions.

First off is malfurion is in the emerald dream (i've read some Warcraft books) Does that not mean that his body is somewhere in azeroth or outland, and if so is there any way to find out where.

Second in a earlier post you stated "The warlock magics wielded by the orcs turned Draenor into a dusty wasteland" If that is true how does zangarmarsh and nagrand thrive with life.

Third can you give me a big huge lore on Ashbringer the sword and whos morgraine's brother(it might be his other son i cant remeber) but my friend took ashbringer into SM and the undead guy in the side room in cathedral told him that morgraines brother (i think) should know how to uncorrupt it.

Would love to have all the anwsers

Malfurion Stormrage stands as both prophet and savior to his people. Some time after returning to Kalimdor alongside Tyrande, he learned that a number of night elves were planning to create a new World Tree in the hopes of regaining their lost immortality. Malfurion warned against it, arguing that nature would never bless such a selfish act. Shortly after that, Malfurion returned to the spirit realm known as the Emerald Dream, to replenish his powers after the events of the Second Invasion of the Burning Legion.

Recently, something went wrong with Malfurion's dreamstate. Now he is trapped somewhere within the Dream, beyond even the reach of the Green Dragons who control it. In-game quests and events indicate he is fighting alongside Cenarius' spirit against The Nightmare. Whether he does not return by choice or because he has been made Unwaking by The Nightmare is unknown. What is known is that with Malfurion lost, the night elves continue to stumble blindly into darkness...

With Malfurion missing, Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm took over the leadership of the druids, convincing the Circle of Ancients in Darkshore that it was time for the elves to rebuild, and that it was time for them regain their immortality. With the approval of the Circle, Staghelm and the most powerful druids grew Teldrassil, the new World Tree.

during a once per server event, he can be found as a level ?? quest giver located on the shores of Lake Elune'ara in the contested territory of Moonglade.

Second in a earlier post you stated "The warlock magics wielded by the orcs turned Draenor into a dusty wasteland" If that is true how does zangarmarsh and nagrand thrive with life.
Life has a habit of fighting back, and I'm sure magicks were involved

Third can you give me a big huge lore on Ashbringer the sword and whos morgraine's brother(it might be his other son i cant remeber) but my friend took ashbringer into SM and the undead guy in the side room in cathedral told him that morgraines brother (i think) should know how to uncorrupt it.
The Ashbringer sword was supposedly created by the Archmage Timolain for the Scarlet Crusade, along with other weapons. The sword is also connected to the infamous fisherman Nat Pagle, and the prince of the Shen'Dralar, Prince Tortheldrin.

The name "Ashbringer" refers to both the sword of legend, and to the original wielder of the sword, Highlord Mograine. A great champion of the Scarlet Crusade, he gained his nickname from his soldiers, who would watch him wade into battle, cutting a blazing swath of holy light through the legions of undead, leaving nothing but ash in his wake. The sword of the Ashbringer was thought lost, but rumors of it's location have persisted through the years. It is spoken of from the Plaguelands to the deepest reaches of Kalimdor. And now, the truth of it's location draws near....

Rumors and speculation about, but now the story is slowly unfolding. Read on for details...

The corrupted version of the sword drops from the Four Horsemen inside the Naxxramus Necropolis. The order is unimportant, unlike some of the other multi-boss raid encounters. Once you equip the sword, you can enter the Scarlet Monestary.

Upon zone in, you hear Mograine shout:

"Bow down! Kneel before the Ashbringer! A new dawn approaches, brothers and sisters! Our message will be delivered to the filth of this world through the chosen one! "

Once the sword is acquired, equipping it will curse the owner, turning the Argent Dawn faction to Hated (temporarily). However, visiting the Scarlet Monastery with the sword equipped yields interesting results! All the NPCs in the Cathedral instance will turn and bow before the person who has the sword. After you reach the Cathedral and talk to Scarlet Commander Mograine, the ghost of Highlord Mograine, the Ashbringer, enters and speaks with his son.

    "Renault..."

    "Father... But... How?"

"Did you think that your betrayal would be forgotten? Lost in the carefully planned cover up of my death? Blood of my blood, the blade felt your cruelty long after my heart had stopped beating. And in death, I knew what you had done. But now, the chains of Kel'Thuzad hold me no more. I come to serve justice. I AM ASHBRINGER."

    "Forgive me, father! Please... "

<The Ashbringer smites his trecherous son with a blast of light.>

    "You are forgiven..."

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

After watching the events between the family Mograine, you can go to High Inquisitor Fairbanks in his secret cubby and talk with him. He reveals some further information about the history of the sword, and the events that killed the Ashbringer.

Visiting Ambassador Fairbanks in the back yields the following conversation:

At last, the curse is lifted. Thank you, hero.

Curse? What's going on here, Fairbanks?

You mean you don't know? The sword that you carry on your back - it is known as Ashbringer; named after it's original owner.

    Mograine?

Aye, the Highlord Mograine: A founder of the original order of the Scarlet Crusade. A knight of unwavering faith and purity; Mograine would be betrayed by his own son and slain by Kel'Thuzad's forces inside Stratholme. It is how I ended up here...

    What do you mean?

It was High General Abbendis, High Inquisitor Isillien, and Highlord Mograine that formed the Crusade. In it's infancy, the Crusade was a noble order. The madness and insane zealotry that you see now did not exist. It was not until the one known as the Grand Crusader appeared that the wheels of corruption where set in motion.

I still do not fully understand.

The Highlord was the lynchpin of the Crusade. Aye, Mograine was called the Ashbringer because of his exploits versus the armies of the Lich King. With only blade and faith, Mograine would walk into the whole battalions of undead and emerge unscathed - the ashes of his foes being the only indication that he had been there at all. Do you not understand? The very face of death feared him! It trembled in his presence!

Incredible story. So how did he die?

The only way a hero can die, human : Through tragedy. The Grand Crusader struck a deal with Kel'Thuzad himself! An ambush would be staged that would resulting the death of Mograine. The type of betrayal that could only be a result of the actions of one's most trusted and loved companions.

    You mean...

    <High Inquisitor Fairbanks nods.>

Aye, the lesser mograine, the one known as the Scarlet Commander, though - what I suspect - the dealings of the Grand Crusader. He led his father to the ambush like a lamb to the slaughter.

How do you know all of this?

<High Inquisitor Fairbanks lifts up his tabard revealing several gruesome scars.>

Because I was there... I was the Highlord's most trusted advisor. I should have known... I felt that something was amiss yet I allowed it to happen. Would you believe that there were a thousand or more Scourge?

    A thousand? For one man?
This was the Ashbringer, fool! As the Scourge began to materialize around us, Mograine's blade began to glow... to hum... the younger Mograine would take that as a sign to make his escape. They descended upon us as with a hunger the likes of which I had never seen. Yet...

    Yet? Yet what??

    It was not enough.

<Fairbanks smirks briefly, lost in memory.>

A thousand came and a thousand died. By the light! By the might of Mograine! He would smite them down as fast as they could come. Through the chaos, I noticed that the lesser Mograine was still there, off in the distance. I called to him, "Help us, Renault! Help your father, boy!"

    And did he?

<High Inquisitor Fairbanks shakes his head.>

No... He stood in the background, watching as the legion of undead descended upon us. Soon after, my powers where exhausted. I was the first to fall... Surely they would tear me limb from limb as I lay there unconscious; but they ignored me completely, focusing all of their attention on the Highlord.

    Continue please, Fairbanks.

It was all I could do to feign death as the corpses of the Scourge piled upon me. There was darkness and only the muffled sounds of the battle above me. The clashing of iron, the gnashing and grinding.. gruesome, terrible sounds. And then there was silence. He called to me! "Fairbanks! Fairbanks where are you? Talk to me Fairbanks!" And then came the sound of incredulousness. The bite of betrayal, human...

    You mean...

The boy had picked up the Ashbringer and driven it through his father's heart as his back was turned. His last words will haunt me forever: "What have you done Renault? Why would you do this?"

You where right Fairbanks. That is tragic.

The blade and Mograine were a singular entity. Do you understand? This act corrupted the blade and lead to Mograine's own corruption, as a death knight of Kel'Thuzad. I swore that if I lived, I would expose the perpetrators of this heinous crime. For two days I remained under the rot and contagion of Scourge - gathering as much strength as possible to escape the razed city.

    And you did...
Aye, I did. Much to the dismay of the lesser Mograine, I made my way back to the Scarlet Monastery. I shouted and screamed. I told the tale to any that would listen. And I would be murdered in cold blood for my actions, dragged to this chamber - the dark secret of the order. But some did listen... some heard my words. Thus was born the Argent Dawn...

You tell an incredible tale, Fairbanks. What of the blade? Is it beyond redemption?

I'm afraid that the blade which you hold in your hands is beyond saving. The hatred runs too deep. But do not lose hope, warrior. Where one chapter has ended, a new one begins.
Find his son - a more devout and pious man you may never meet. It is rumored that he is able to build the Ashbringer anew, without requiring the old, tainted blade.

    But his son is dead.

<High Inquisitor Fairbanks shakes his head.>

No, human; only one of his sons is dead. The other lives...

<High Inquisitor Fairbanks points to the sky.>

    The Outland... Find him there...

Hi there. Don't know if this was asked before, but what is the history of Mok'Nathal and his son Rexxar? And what happened to the other mok'nathal sons?
