If you had bothered to watch the video where frostmourne was mentioned you would know that that frostmourne is a old version and will not be released.

    Re: Ask Lore Questions Here

Ok, I searched thru this thread, but didn't spot this question. Why is it the Sha'tar are even speaking to the blood elves much less letting them set up shop in Shattrath (Scryers)? It seems odd to me that they would have anything to do with them considering the BE pallys keep members of their race in their "basements" and continually suck magic and power from them to fuel the paladin class.

I also saw someone mention tormented voice earlier but did not see a response. I'd like to know some history on this as well.

Also, is the maiden a titan? or some statue type thing sprung to life by odd magic goings on?

Any info appreciated! Thanks for this thread, I have enjoyed reading what I have had time to read so far. Lore makes the game so much more interesting!

Worldofwarcraft.com says the following about the Scryer:

This time, the attack came from the armies of Illidan Stormrage. A large regiment of blood elves had been sent by Illidan’s ally, Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider, to lay waste to the city. As the regiment of blood elves crossed the bridge, the Aldor’s exarchs and vindicators lined up to defend the Terrace of Light. Then the unexpected happened: the blood elves laid down their weapons in front of the cities defenders. Their leader, a blood elf elder known as Voren’thal, stormed into the Terrace of Light and demanded to speak to the naaru A'dal. As the naaru approached him, Voren’thal knelt and uttered the following words: ā€œI’ve seen you in a vision, naaru. My race’s only hope for survival lies with you. My followers and I are here to serve you.ā€

The defection of Voren’thal and his followers was the largest loss ever incurred by Kael’thas’ forces. Nor were these just any blood elves. Many of the strongest and brightest amongst Kael’thas’ scholars and magisters had been swayed by Voren’thal's influence. The naaru accepted the defectors who became known as the Scryers.

Also, is the maiden a titan? or some statue type thing sprung to life by odd magic goings on?
    She is a magical construct.

How about some general info on the bosses in Kara? Who they are, what brought them there, why a deadly rogue was a butler, etc etc etc.

    Re: Ask Lore Questions Here

well majhere im a bit of a lore whore myself and i have found a contradiction in the draenei shammy lore, in one or two places(not sure where anymore) it is mentioned that the draenei learnt to wield the elements before the orcs were corrupted but, however, in the story "unbroken"(see here World of Warcraft Europe -> Unbroken) it claims they discovered it!
    Any comment on this conundrum?

It has been said that this was a mistake made, and that the offical stand on it is the story, Velen's Vision and the Bequest of the Wind

Originally Posted by Velen's Vision and the Bequest of the Wind
In recent years, Velen, the noble leader of the draenei, was granted a vision....

In it he saw the Broken: formerly healthy draenei who had devolved during the orcs' murderous crusade to wipe out the draenei race. According to Velen's vision, the Broken would rise to power once again and aid their displaced brethren.

Velen's vision was given substance in the form of Nobundo, a one-time draenei Vindicator who had devolved while the orcs decimated his race and tore the planet apart. Like his fellow Broken, Nobundo had lost contact with the Light, and so he ventured far into the deserts of Outland to meditate and pray for guidance.

After decades of silence, an unfamiliar voice finally answered his prayers. It was not the Light that whispered to him, but the wind. The breeze spoke to him of lost truths, of the might of the elements – of the delicate balance of power embraced by the shaman.

Nobundo listened eagerly and learned all he could. When he judged the time was right, he departed the desert determined to use this knowledge to help the draenei race. However, most draenei refugees greeted the sight of a Broken with skepticism and outright prejudice. Only one of the healthy draenei did not shun the Broken: the wise and perceptive Velen.

Velen had heard the philosophy of the shaman before, but Nobundo revealed new truths. The elements were timeless; they stretched across the cosmos to inhabit every world they touched. With the proper training, the draenei might learn to wield this overlooked, seemingly inexhaustible source of power.

Velen rejoiced to realize that his vision was coming to pass. Accordingly he took Nobundo with him when he and his fellow refugees took possession of the naaru satellite structure Exodar from the blood elves. Thus it was that Nobundo journeyed with the draenei to the world of Azeroth.

Nobundo found that unlike the desolate wastes of Outland, Azeroth possessed abundant elemental energies. He shared his knowledge of shamanism with the draenei on Azeroth, and all who adopted its path flourished.

The time for the draenei shaman to test themselves draws near, for the battle against the Burning Legion is once again at hand. And the fate not only of Azeroth, but of all worlds, hangs in the balance.

Why does sylvanas windrunner look like a night elf, if she's an undead high elf?

Dark skinned High Elves look like Night Elves. N'uff said.
