Hey, first off all I must ne honest and say that I didnt read everything on all theese pages. I plan to do, but I have to do in bits - So, I hope this question haven't been asked and/or answered before.

I had a discussion with a friend, who claimed that WoW didn't follow what he called "The real d&d rules", and therefore was a sucky game. One of his examples of WoW not "following the rules" was that originally the Male high-elves was slaves, therefore it shouldnt be possible to play male night or blood-elfs, or they shouldn't be as strong as the females. He also said that calling them night-elves and blood-elves was weird since their name is high-elves. I've showed him what I was able to find about the beginning of the bloodelves (also the stuff from this threat), but I would love for you to give me some more evidence or some more history behind the elves. And I would like to know if its true, that the Male elves were slaves, and why. He also mentioned something about the worlds name was wrong, that it shouldn't be named Azeroth, but something else.. Starting with an F as far as I remember. I really had a tough time arguing for WoW being the best game and stuff, because I dont know enough lore to be able to battle him - So Majere, pls help me out here. Well Tenned, he is not wholly incorrect on the Elven men being slaves part, although that is inaccurate.

Rather, Elven society had many organizations (such as the Preisthood of Elune) that only females could be members in. However, there we many organizations that only males could join as well (Druidism).

Azeroth is the name of the world in which the majority of the Warcraft series is set. I do not know what your friend refers to about another name.

And finally, the High Elves became the Blood Elves, correct.

During the Third War, Prince Arthas led his army of the undead against them, ravaging Quel'Thalas and corrupting the Sunwell. Most of what was left of Quel'thalas was burned down by the high elves, in an effort to give the scourge a psychological victory and leaving the few high elves left who were making their last stand on Sunstrider Isle. Despite their efforts, almost 90% of the high elven population were eradicated during this conflict. In remembrance of their fallen brethren, most of them renamed themselves the blood elves, or sin'dorei, and swore to avenge their fallen race. Cut off from their source of power once again, the elves went into magic withdrawal.

The fearsome demon called Azzinoth was a doomguard commander of the Burning Legion during the War of the Ancients before the Great Sundering. He met his end, however, when he came upon Illidan Stormrage.

Illidan slew Azzinoth, and took his weapons, a pair of vicious warglaives called the Blades of Azzinoth. Over the millennia, Illidan grew more and more adept with the demonic weapons, and likely became more proficient with them than their original owner. He carries them still.

There are several posts with my own opinions and knowledge on this thread, but you are correct, it is easier to simply post WoWWiki's facts most of the time.
