Hey Alk, I was wondering if you had any lore on why the Night Elves hate Draenei/Eradar? Also, the Draenei Shamn trainers, are they some of the "Broken"?
Lord Uther the Lightbringer was the first paladin of the Knights of the Silver Hand who led his Order in battle against the Horde during the Second War. During the Third War, Uther was betrayed and murdered by his beloved pupil, Prince Arthas, while defending the urn carrying the ashes of Arthas' father, King Terenas. He is believed to have been canonized as a saint by the Church of Light.Originally Posted by firestormer45
From Cleric of Northshire to Knight of the Silver Hand
Uther was a Cleric of the Holy Order of Northshire in the First War, apprenticed to the Archbishop, Alonsus Faol. The near destruction of his order during the conflict made Uther realize that sometimes faith was simply not enough to combat the evil forces of the world. When Faol began to rebuild the Holy Order in Lordaeron, Uther knew that they must learn from the past, and so he and his followers took up the sword and shield, creating the Knights of the Silver Hand – the Paladins. In Alonsus Chapel in Stratholme, Uther became the first of the new order, as well as their leader. From there on, the priesthood would co-exist with a new defending and crusading order instead of the weaker Clerics. It was a glorious moment for the Alliance and believers of the Holy Light.
Events of the Second War and After
Uther the Lightbringer was on his way to Darrowmere Lake when he was attacked by Alterac pirates, and uncovered a conspiracy which would reveal that Alterac had betrayed the Alliance. Among his other exploits, Lightbringer led the final assault against the Burning Blade Clan at the Dark Portal alongside Turalyon.
In the years following the Second War, Uther continued to serve as a stalwart knight and protector of the people, settling disputes among men and more violent matters with any threatening creatures. As he became the most elite of the remaining paladins, he began to tutor King Terenas's talented son, Prince Arthas, in the way of the Light. They became good friends, and knew each other like family.
The Coming of the Scourge
As the troubles of the Third War first began, Uther was honored that Arthas joined him in defending the town of Strahnbrad from raiding orc renegades of the Blackrock Clan who had eluded capture under the leadership of the deadly blademaster, Jubei'Thos. While Uther defended the town, Arthas engaged the encamped orcs. With Uther's help, Arthas managed to destroy the encampment, and temporarily defeat Jubei'Thos.
Uther was not brought into action again until he was unexpectedly met by Jaina one day. She had come rushing from Hearthglen with news that the town was under heavy attack by the Scourge. Uther rushed to the defense with the Silver Hand at his back, but the town had taken severe damage, and Arthas was barely holding out.
Horrified, humiliated, and disturbed by his near-defeat, Arthas quickly left for Stratholme, where he hoped to engage Mal'Ganis. Uther followed him, and they found that Stratholme had been infected with the Plague. Arthas, knowing what that meant, ordered Uther to purge the city. Uther, horrified, refused to do so, at which point Arthas charged him with treason, and ordered him to leave his presence.
Uther confided in Terenas after Arthas left for Northrend, and together, they decided that Arthas had been compromised, most likely from the stress he endured at Hearthglen, and ordered an emissary to find him and order him to return.
Arthas finally did return some weeks later, though he was somehow different. Nevertheless, Lordaeron's capital erupted in festival to celebrate their returning hero. The fesitivity turned to horror as Arthas proceeded into the throne room and impaled his father on the Runeblade, Frostmourne.
Terenas was ceremonially cremated and ensconced within a magical urn. Uther, dismayed at having lost two friends to the darkness, volunteered to personally guard the urn in Andorhal. The town was raided by Arthas and his undead minions, who sought the magical urn for necromantic purposes. Uther stood against Arthas and his minions, and after an epic battle he was defeated. He died by the hands of his former pupil, who he loved dearly.
Uther's body was recoved after the battle with Arthas by followers of the Alliance and laid rest in a great tomb. The tomb is located in the Western Plaguelands, east of Chillwind Camp - one of few places of Light in a land blighted by darkness.
It is rumoured that Uther had a son.
Legacy
Uther is generally viewed as a hero and a martyr who was loyal to his nation, order and king to the death. Being the creator of the Knights of the Silver Hand, a general during the Second War and instrumental in rallying the shaken Alliance to victory after the death of Anduin Lothar has immortalized him as one of the greatest knights and holy men ever to live in the eyes of many. However, there are paladins who criticized him for the very things he is extolled for. They say that Uther was so loyal to the throne that he did not dare to stop Arthas from killing the citizens of Stratholme, and these paladins hold him directly responsible for allowing the prince to fall into corruption, which led to his new identity as the Lich King. By the Lightbringer's inaction, the Scourge claimed countless lives, and led to the utter destruction of Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas. By this dichotomy, Uther has come to be seen as a source of hope and inspiration to many, and a representation of blind devotion and negligence to others.

So we know that Arathas betrayed Uther
but do we know how old he was at the time (Arathas) ?
And you mentioned that Uther was in 3 wars what is the time span across all these ?
thanxs
Arthas became a disciple of the Silver Hand at the young age of 19....I'm guessing the Betrayal happened at his mid-late twentys.Originally Posted by firestormer45
Unoffical, educated guess about the time span of Uther's wars? 40 years.
thanks for the reply's i'm trying to make a little story based movie for wow
and i'm trying to think up of some nice plot but i'm struggling for ideas![]()
but atm i'm thinking of
main char is a Paladin (female)
her father fought along side uther / arthas and died but atm i'm not sure how to say he died and to implement the lore along side it
Then i want to put some plot up with this 'main char' wanting to follow in her dads foot steps or somthing along those lines.....
any ideas ? .....
You could make her Father one of the Paladins Arthas killed before killing Uther to get his father's urn. She would have a deep hatred of Arthas/The Lich King, then.Originally Posted by firestormer45

So we could'nt really have any story against him. We could just use him as a background to why this paladin has so much hatred for the world ?
Anyway thxs
MAN!! That is exactly what I wanted to know. I haven't seen the Ashbringer drop yet, but I know my guild will run Naxx once most of us hit 70 and just walk in there and run house just to get it to see the story unfold in SM. Oh BTW +repOriginally Posted by Majere![]()

Lore
The Fire god and his brethren once held sway over the entire world. As a servant of the Old Gods, he fought against the Titans for domination over the planet. The victorious Titans banished him and his brethren to the Elemental Plane - there to remain imprisoned until the end of time.
It was then and there that the brothers turned on each other. For five millennia a battle was fought at the core of this world.
It was during the Elemental Sundering that Ragnaros sought to consume Thunderaan, Prince of Air. Thunderaan fell, utterly defeated. The Firelord feasted upon the essence of Thunderaan, but was unable to consume him entirely.
In the center of a vast lake of fire in the Elemental Plane stands Sulfuron Keep, the home of Ragnaros. Until comparatively recently, he ruled his underground land with a molten iron fist.
Three hundred years ago, the ambitious and ruthless Dark Iron Clan initiated a war against their dwarven brethren, the Bronzebeard Clan and Wildhammer Clan. During this War of the Three Hammers, the Dark Iron Dwarf leader named Thaurissan lay siege to the Wildhammers' capital city of Grim Batol, destroying it. Despite this victory, the united Wildhammers and Bronzebeards were ultimately able to push the Dark Iron dwarves back to Blackrock Mountain. Thaurissan, seeking to summon a supernatural minion that would turn the tide of the war back to his favor, called upon the ancient powers sleeping beneath the world. To Thaurissan's surprise, and ultimately his doom, the creature that emerged was more terrible than any nightmare he could have imagined.
Now, freed by Thaurissan's call, Ragnaros erupted into being once again. Ragnaros' apocalyptic rebirth into Azeroth shattered the Blackrock MountainBlackrock Mountain, was bordered by what is now known as the Searing Gorge, to the north, and the Burning Steppes, to the south. Though Thaurissan was killed by the forces he had unleashed, his surviving Dark Iron Clan brethren were ultimately enslaved by Ragnaros and his elementals. Many Dark Iron dwarves remain within the lower areas of the mountain, especially Blackrock Depths, toiling away at the behest of Ragnaros and the Firelord's lieutenants. They worship Ragnaros, considering him an Old God, although he is only affiliated with the Old GodsLoC 191,192. The Bronzebeards and Wildhammers, however, remain free.
Witnessing the horrific devastation and the fires spreading across the southern mountains, the Bronzebeards' King Madoran and Wildhammers' King Khardros halted their armies and hastily turned back towards their kingdoms, unwilling to face the awesome wrath of Ragnaros.
Now he lies at the bottom of that volcano on Azeroth, striving to find a way home, as well as to gather his strength once again so he can burn away Azeroth and take it for his own. Meanwhile, in Sulfuron Keep and elsewhere across the Firelands, his elemental princes battle constantly for dominance.
He and his dwarven minions took control of the Blackrock mountain's volcanic depths and made war on the orcs in the Upper Blackrock Spire, which served as the seat of power for Nefarian the Black Dragon. Ragnaros has uncovered the secret to creating life from stone and plans to build an army of unstoppable golems to aid him in conquering the whole of Blackrock Mountain.
Etymology/inspiration
Ragnaros' name is from Ragnarök(Ragnarok), the end of the world in Norse mythology, but he seems to be based on the leader of the Fire giants, Surt. This battle would be fought between the gods (the Æsir and the Vanir), and the jotuns (the giants): the hrímþursar (frost giants) and the eldjotnarSurtr), together with Loki and his children. and created a raging volcano at the center of the devastation. The volcano, known as (fire giants, led by
