[Discussion] Horde or Alliance?

Horde are the gray beasts I kill for no xp and some Crag Boar Meat! Besides...one thing that makes Alliance so good...IRONFORGE. Point Said and explained

I agree with the point about Horde cities.. Hanging out in Org/UC/TB would NEVER be the same as hanging out in trade district in SW or Bank in IF. Silvermoon would be good but no one goes there and it's WAY too big and mazey IMO. My analysis of the cities is -

Orgrimmar: Wooden huts and fire.
UC: A cave full of green water and dead people
TB: Just wooden huts
Silvermoon: Probably the best looking city in the game, however no one goes.

Stormwind: A big grand city with castles and all that crap.
Ironforge: A HUGE city in a cave where everyone goes which is made of metals and stone and shit.
Darnassus: Looks ok but.. meh, no central place in it and it's dead.
Exodar: Fails.

It might sound like a stupid reason but that's the main reason why I've never rolled a Hordey and played it through. Leaving huge stone fortresses for wooden huts just really doesn't seem that good for me, I spend a lot of my time lolling around in the central parts of cities.
The castles and that just make it feel more real, I associate WoW with medieval times usually so that's why I prefer the towering castles and stuff to the huts and fires I suppose.
(I'm a PvE person if you haven't guessed, I do the odd BG for an epic cloak or whatever but I don't do PvP usually)

Silvermoon city is so out of the way thats why nowon goes there, you have to run all the way up to the northern part of it just to get to the orb (which takes you to UC) to get to the zep. The UC is no good becuase the space around the mailbox and bank is so little. Imagine that place populated, it would be hard as hell to get around, also its hard (for me at least) to rride on my mount up the steps. Thats why Org is most populated. TB is fine (in my opinion) but its not near a zep.

Onto the factions... I lvl'd an alliance mage to 40 then switched to horde (got a 70priest just dinged 3days ago woot!). The only reason I switched was because I wanted to be on a PvP server, and I figured I mine as well level on a different faction aswell.

Horde always claim that "omg ally are such noobs all they do is gank." Infact, Horde ganks just as much as alliance. On my alliance char I've encountered many younger, and many older people. Same as on the horde. I havn't been on alliance for a while and this may be on my server only but there is SO MANY people who spam /trade on the horde. Recently its been "[Gloves of Aldor] this, [Gloves of Aldlor] that" so much I've had to leave the trade channel :S. Also on the horde side (may be my server only) the barrens chat almost always has people saying stupid shit in /1. I never encountered an alliance zone (except for human starting place a little bit) that was as bad.

As far as skill goes, both sides have really good people, and really sucky people. I've had a few alliance help me kill things as I lvl'd (in outlands we even quested together for a few hours, with /emote communication, it was pimp).

I did notice one thing very peculiar on my server (Skullcrusher). Pre BC 70% of alliance my level or higher that I ran into would always attack me. But in the outlands only 10% of alliance I ran into actually attacked me. (I'm passive so I let them make the first move before I pwn them =).

Horde! Because most people roll alliance. There are usally 2 alliance for each horde players on the most realms!

The main reason that I rolled Horde was because that was the faction most of my friends were.

The thing is, everyone has good and bad experiences with each faction. I've loved the people that I've dealt with on the Horde side. When I rolled Alliance, I got constantly berated, and people talking about having sex with their dogs in general (I'm not making this up.)

Maybe it's just my server, but I've found the Horde to generally be helpful, if a little underpopulated. (I think it's a 3:1 ratio on my server)

And on this unnamed server, the Alliance is mostly composed of kids under the age of 16. I swear to God. There are a couple Alliance converts in my guild who can testify to this, so don't just blast me for stereotyping.

The way you type, you probably are a night elf and 12 years old. That's not why this thread was made, I don't think, so don't start that bullshit.

Onto my opinion.

When I get my account back, I'm rolling alliance (for RL friends) but I definitely prefer horde. Horde seems to be more hardcore (generally, on the servers I play on, it is.) and I'm a hardcore gamer, but a lot of Horde I have met have been complete *******s. Like both factions, there are mean/terrible players, but I've seen more incompetent players on the Alliance. I'm not going to stereotype it and say, "zomgfz all night elfs is 10 yea olss asldfaopsdflolololol." It's just that, most of the time, I get in a level 25ish instance and I get into combat with the group, and I see a night elf hunter meleeing, a warrior trying to tank in battle stance, a rogue trying to get the aggro off the tank so he can tank, and a healer that ONLY heals the tank, so all our dps dies and we wipe. That's what I usually see in a typical alliance instance group, though I've had exceptions, a few good SM runs etc.

On the topic of friendlier, and more helpful, I'd have to go with Alliance. When on an alliance alt/whatever alliance etc. I ask for help with a quest on general chat or guild chat, I get at least 2, "Oh, I'll come help you, invite?" When I ask for help on the Horde.. it's a completely different story.. I get either no help, or get cursed out for not being the most hardcore dickhead ever.

This leads me to my next topic: Guild/Instance Activity.
Being a Horde player, I find it incredibly difficult to find an instance group at 70, and almost no guilds on my server are beginning Kara or beginning to gear for Kara. Lower level instances, in my opinion, are just as hard to find a group for. On the Alliance, I could find a group for 3 different 70 instances at the same time, and I can be casual and do whichever one I want right then. There are 10s of guilds beginning Kara or gearing for it.

Though, i started out as an gnome female warlock = imbaness.
I found the horde as a more mature faction, and i liked the fact that i
wasnt getting spammed by a guy called "DkzPaladinDK",
who is begging for gold by using the famous: "1gold plzz, i rlly need plzz.."

My view of the horde:
A flock of mostly mature players, who - yes, takes the game quite seriously as many has said.
That might point them in the direction of being called a crazy nerd, or a fat guy living in his moms basement.
I like playing as a horde, because unlike the alliance, i have alot in comment with these players.
Sure, - Theres alot of immature players on the horde site aswell, but not even near the amount the alliance has.

My view of the alliance:
No, im not going to say that alliance is 99% kids, because they arent.
When i played on my warlock, i got in touch with alot of elder people.
Grown kind players who just liked gaming with their relatives and friends.
Though, i am going to point out that the alliance DOES have alot of immature players on their site.
And the reason for that might be because the alliance look: COOLZ! in their eyes.

I like the horde, because in all games i want to be the "bad guy"...
Everybody is saying that the alliance are kids... but on my server that "kids" are clearing BT once a month or someting.. maybe theyre kids, but pro kids...
