Yes, game isn't balanced always, and it has had ups and downs (Though seriously, Cata was the REAL down not MoP), to say WOW is less and less catering to casuals? haha This must be a case of grass is greener on the other side (when it's really not) because WOW is probably the most casual friendly mainstream MMO that exists and it is only getting more casual friendly.
That right there made me think this has to be a troll post.
Btw, TBC was FUN for pvp, but the most balanced? I don't think so... I'd put that maybe WOTLK patch 3.4 season.
World PVP may be dying from lack of subs, this is agree with, but it is ALSO dying because PVE gear > PVP gear for world pvp right now... in many cases at least. Not very fun to lose in a duel to that Heroic PVE geared player with nearly 200k more HP than my full Grievous 522 geared toon, even though you know you were outplaying him. ALSO, world pvp started the slow death at the start of Cata when Blizz decided to introduce insanely hard hitting and limitless respawning guards in cities... Not fun to hit Stormwind with a full raid when 100 ally guards insta spawn on you that you need to fight off as well as the real players. That was blizz trying to discourage hitting cities but I think they went overboard. Don't even try to hit Horde or Ally main cities in the Vale as those guards 1 shot kill... Again, it's more Blizz that is killing off world pvp than anything by making NPC guards too strong. There should be guards, but not to the point of futility.
