I played around with it a bit. Make sure that the P in patch-#.MPQ is not capitalized. Make sure that .MPQ is capitalized. I think it might not work if you don't do this.

New fix uploaded for patch 2.4, confirmed working. Make sure to read the notes the other users made if you can't get it to work, blizzard seem to have done something strange.

    10/3/08 5:59 PM:
Fixed the retarded bugs I introduced due to not having a working PC to test on. New build also features an explicit launcher to handle DBC edits.

Problem with PTR support worked out, although experiencing techincal difficulties so fix may be delayed.

    5/3/08 1:56 PM:
PTR support not working, I need someone to post the error message otherwise I'll never be able to fix it.

    3/3/08 5:02 PM:
New build with PTR support posted. Need someone to test it.

Rearranged this post so newest updates are at the top.

    3/2/07 6:18 PM:
Mac support MAY be on its way within a week or two. Don't get too excited, I'm not sure if I can do it yet, but first I need to get a copy of OSX and install WoW and a set of reverse engineering tools, then I need to find out what APIs I need to do the fix on OSX. (All of which may take a while)

    3/2/07 6:13 PM:
PTR fix on the way. I'm just downloading the client atm.

    3/2/07 5:41 PM:
Updated the fix to run a version check before patching.
Fixed the crappy logic of the FindProcess/Patch method. (First build was thrown together in 5 minutes as a request).
Replaced the program's default icon with my own.
Added some extra error checking to avoid unnecessary problems.
Changed around the folder structure on server to include the full build number to assist recognizing PTR builds easier when I upload them.

    3/2/07 5:20 PM:
Requested the thread be moved back here, it was moved by a moderator who I think believed I posted it here by accident.
How do you use this Chazwazza model fix? I would really like to know, I downloaded it, put some MPQ's in the data file, but it doesn't seem to work :S thanks for any help

I've had the same problem when i log on...my model doesn't work & stays as it was before.

i looked through all the posts & saw the .MPQ renaming to all the files in my Data folder.

but when i did that & launched the MEF i get this message :

" Failed to open archive interface.MPQ: The system cannot find file specified "

when i take out the .MPQ from the files it loads up like normal...but then i'm back to the same problem where the model edits don't work.

    glad for any help.

People said they've had success with it, others not. I'm confused. Try what those with success suggested and make the extension of your patches MPQ (rather than mpq, ie, in caps).

I'm installing the new patch now so I can test stuff, hopefully I can get it working but my computer is screwed, I'm waiting on a new motherboard.

Ok, now i have tryed everything i can think of and i sill need some help guys. Either I try and patch it without the patches beeing named Patch-#.MPQ, then nothing happens. Or i rename them to Patch-#.MPQ, then i get a error saying that "interface.MPQ cound not be found" and i dont think there is such a file so im not realy surprised would love some help if possible.

"Failed to open archive interface.MPQ: file could not be found"

It appears regular model editing and terrain editing does work but editing of certain things, such as WMOs, does not.

Try using patch-#.MPQ (make sure the "p" in "patch" is in lowercase).
