Chazwazza's Model Edit Fix - Live + PTR

I'm posting this upon request (the donation link too strangely enough). Something to do with Kynox which I don't recall, anyway, I digress.

This is a model edit fix for WoW v2.4.0 and will be updated with each patch. This fix is different to the current one because it does not require dll injection and can be applied to WoW at any time. This is useful because I've had situations where I applied a terrain change in another zone and launched WoW but forgot to apply the fix, this will allow you to apply the fix on the fly before the model is loaded.

The fix also supports multiple concurrent WoW instances and will let you select which one to patch from a list. Useful for people like me who often have in excess of 10 copies running at once.

This fix can be used both as a launcher and an on-the-fly patcher.

    Instructions:
Works like all my previous fixes except this one has a snazzy ui and is written in C# instead of C++ (its a little more stable and forgiving than my previous one too). Throw your MPQs into the data folder into the format "patch-?" where '?' can be any number or letter higher than what is already in the folder officially. Either run the fix from the WoW folder and use it as a launcher, or run it from anywhere and apply the fix on the fly.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

DBC edits should have their extension in lowercase (.mpq), and normal edits should have their extension in uppercase (.MPQ).

    Download (v2.4.1 - LIVE):
    Chazwazza.net Download

InnerSpace Extension Release Thread (v2.4.1 - LIVE):
    IS Mods.com :: View topic - ISXWoWImmo

Note: Requires the .NET Framework 2.0 (installed already on most systems).

Donating ensures the continued existence of this fix. Time and resources aren't free so If you wish to support me it would be greatly appreciated.

    Updates (Australian EST):

    2/4/08 5:07 PM:
My website is ****ed atm so I'm using a free hosting service. Updated for 2.4.1.

    28/3/08 6:31 PM:
InnerSpace extension released with model edit fix support. Check the release thread posted.

    26/3/08 2:59 PM:
New fix uploaded for patch 2.4, confirmed working. Make sure to read the notes the other users made if you can't get it to work, blizzard seem to have done something strange.

    10/3/08 5:59 PM:
Fixed the retarded bugs I introduced due to not having a working PC to test on. New build also features an explicit launcher to handle DBC edits.

    8/3/08 1:59 PM:
Problem with PTR support worked out, although experiencing techincal difficulties so fix may be delayed.

    5/3/08 1:56 PM:
PTR support not working, I need someone to post the error message otherwise I'll never be able to fix it.

    3/3/08 5:02 PM:
New build with PTR support posted. Need someone to test it.

    3/2/07 6:26 PM:
Rearranged this post so newest updates are at the top.

    3/2/07 6:18 PM:
Mac support MAY be on its way within a week or two. Don't get too excited, I'm not sure if I can do it yet, but first I need to get a copy of OSX and install WoW and a set of reverse engineering tools, then I need to find out what APIs I need to do the fix on OSX. (All of which may take a while)

    3/2/07 6:13 PM:
PTR fix on the way. I'm just downloading the client atm.

    3/2/07 5:41 PM:
Updated the fix to run a version check before patching.
Fixed the crappy logic of the FindProcess/Patch method. (First build was thrown together in 5 minutes as a request).
Replaced the program's default icon with my own.
Added some extra error checking to avoid unnecessary problems.
Changed around the folder structure on server to include the full build number to assist recognizing PTR builds easier when I upload them.

    3/2/07 5:20 PM:
Requested the thread be moved back here, it was moved by a moderator who I think believed I posted it here by accident.

Regarding detection, I have never heard of a single person ever getting banned as a result of detection of a model edit fix.
