Glider Lawsuit Discussion Thread

They last updated in May, and they stated their Appellate brief is due on 8/14/2009, a little less than a Month from now. They also stated they may ask for a 30 day extension, so that may put it as late as 9/14/2009. The court will accept Blizzard's Appellate Brief a month later, and then will decide if legal errors were encountered during the previous trial, and if they determine there are legal errors errors sufficient enough to prejudice the decision, they will hear arguments and make a ruling. If this court does not overturn this decision, they will have to appeal to the Supreme Court, who have the ability to either hear the case or refuse it outright.

It's going to be a while before this decision is overturned, if it is overturned at all. Let's hope for the best.

Even if you somehow get a hold of it, it doesn't guarantee that it's going to be undectable since they stopped upgrading it.

I think that mdy will win the case because its a breach of contract not copyright infirgment to develop/use a bot.

The original case was because glider loaded information from WoW and made a copy of it, hence copyright infringement, but I think since glider changed how it works, blizzard is going for losses and damages by the bot, not sure how that plays out though.

Its a video game...a video game...that we all bought and paid for with our own money, and even though we paid for our accounts we don't own them? Seriously? We're paying $15.00 a month for something that we don't own? I paid for my account, and I continue to pay every month. I should be able to do whatever I want with the account, thats why we have them. If I want to use a bot on my account I should be able to. There's no reason for this stuff. I hope Glider wins, it was a helpful tool.
