It wasn't difficult it just didn't work at all. I did everything right I even tried it on two other computers. Character -> Creature edits and bootfixes and stuff like that still dont work.
Yeah I'm sure they work and I'm using kynox's fix. My reskins are working as well.
Found out what the problem is. Your files you renamed to .MPQ are actually called "patch-X.MPQ.mpq".
Go to START > Control Panel > Folder options > In the second tab UNTICK "hide extension for known file types".
Now you should see your files are named "Patch-X.MPQ.mpq". Simply remove one MPQ text after the filename and you should be ok.
Still not work for me.I tried all the method above, but my race to race (human2highElve) still not work.
Holy ****ing shit I feel like an idiot. Big time idiot.
Ok, so, Saith's post just got me thinking...maybe my patches don't end with ".MPQ" capitalized even though it shows it capitalized under the file name. So, I went to Folder Options and unchecked "Hide Extension for known File Types". And guess what?! All my patches ended with ".mpq". So I changed it to ".MPQ" and holy hell did I feel like a retard. It worked.
So, yeah, Kynox, never mind, it works, we just now need to tell all the people who were retarded like me how to fix it.
IF YOUR MODEL EDITS AREN'T LOADING AND NOT WORKING, READ THIS:
You need to go to START > Folder Options > View (Up on the top, the tab) > and UNCHECK "Hide Extension for known file types". Now go to your data folder (or where ever you have your edits in) and you'll see that most likely the ones not working end in ".mpq" and NOT ".MPQ" so what you need to do is make the "mpq" CAPITALIZED.
Example:
This is WRONG: "patch-x.mpq"
This is RIGHT: "patch-x.MPQ"
Then after you change it, if you want you can go back and re-check "Hide Extension for known file types" so you don't accidentally screw something up.
IF YOUR WORLD OF WARCRAFT DOESN'T START UP PROPERLY AFTER DOUBLE CLICKING THE "WOWME.EXE", READ THIS:
If it does this, you probably have a bad DBC edit, because during patch 2.4.3 some DBC files got changed, so check that out and delete the edit if it's causing it, make sure to test it first though. The most common DBC edit that's screwed up is the spell swap for old poison proc. You can get the new and updated old poison proc for 2.4.3 here:

Hopefully this helped everyone, and I'm sure it did.
Kynox, keep up the good work.
Thanks for this

/me is addict
lol, you guys don't show extensions when reinstalling windows? Its the first thing i do! (After getting firefox ofcourse)
sooo i make the patch with a capital P (Patch) and do the rest i checked for the extension problem and nothing, my wowme closes immediately when i load if i try and put the MPQ how it is suposed to be (patch-X.MPQ) now someone said something about DBC edits being old or corrupt? i mean are ALL the spell swaps corrupt? i am confused and not a pro at this and would appreciate someone to clarify fully pleaseee( I.E im trying to get my FOL to pyroblast at my healing targets).
Try and see if it works without the DBC edit, and if it does, then well...that's the problem. Also, I edited my last post, and make the "patch" without the capitalized "P". It was a typo.
Also, you're showing the extensions so you're able to check and see if your edit ends in "patch.mpq" (which is wrong) or "patch.MPQ" (which is right). Notice the "MPQ" difference as far as capitalizing goes (Yes, having MPQ capitalized is crucial for this to work, I learned that the retarded way).
Wait, I'm a little confused as of why you would do that, and mentioning FireFox, and I dunno, that post just really confused me.
But anyways...ya...
well first, i clicked on the extension thing and had no extensions on my MPQs which stumped me but i thought nothing of it. But on the DBC where i dont see any trace of em....noob moment...
oh duh so you mean without the edit all together yea it works just kinda like grrrr idk why but these kinda little things bug me till i can fix it.
