IF your MPQ's are model edits or swaps and are named properly. Try launching wow without using wowme you should crash at the point your wow client encounters the model. If you do not crash, then yoru MPQ's are probably not named right. This might be a good way to diagnose whether or not you have named your MPQ's properly.
If your MPQ's are just texture edits, you dont even need wowme. They just dont load at all unless they are named right.
If you are getting partial success, but some of your textures are wrong or show up as white surfaces, you might need to clear your cashe. The repair utility has an option for this.
About the naming convention.
All your MPQ's should be named "patch-$.MPQ" where $ should be a letter A-Z or a number. the wowexe client loads these mpq's in order. so whatever changes happen in patch-A will get overwritten in patch-B. All that to say this, "patch-nakidelf.MPQ" probably aint going to work, but renaming it to "patch-X.MPQ" will work.
I hope this all makes sense. I know its confusing. I got by without using wowme for a long time on just texture edit mpq's. And had to rename everthing when the 4.3.1 update came out. Now that i'm toying with model edits wowme is necessary, or I'll crash. So far, I have had no problems with it because i'm alredy used to naming my files to the new convention.
Yeah there is no problem when i login with WoW.exe ... but i cant understand still... patches named Patch-M.MPQ and Patch-T.MPQ in Data folder... And WOWME.exe is in WoW folder
whats wrong here?
Yeah my problem was the extensions thing. I feel like a dumb ass lol, sorry for the flaming kynox.
thx alot for the newest fix everything working perfect ^^
I tried the extension thing and they were named properly already. Still no luck i dont know what to do
I uploaded the file. Could anyone see if it works for them or why the exe isnt recognizing it for me?
Patch-A.MPQ - FileFront.com
(Nightelf female to Human female btw)
Actually scratch that im a total idiot. I took a second look at the Data folder and noticed the blizzard files has a lowercase p in "patch". All my files were "Patch". Whoops! Sorry for all the whining kynox, ive figured it out. You should put the file extension thing in your first post along with it being "patch-#" instead of "Patch-#"
Thanks Kynox!
I was using letters in caps (Patch-Z.MPQ)
Ill try again with lowercase
Ok Updating again..
After reading a few more responses, one of the problems indeed was a capitalization in the letter P of patch-Z.MPQ
In addition i had actually named the filed patch-Z.MPQ (including the .MPQ in the name) which was a no no, because apparently the new glitchies makes it so you dont have to do that.
the working version wound up being named "patch-Z" and it was an MPQ file.
Im attemping a re-edit now with the helm fix to see if it will work. Ill update you guys with the results.
UPDATE:
It works! now to clarify what i did wrong and what i did right.
when naming your file in the editor, name it "patch-Z" don't bother typing ".MPQ", also you don't have to use "Z" thats just what i chose.
Be sure NOT to capitalize the "P" in "patch-Z"
Also feel free to use the helm fix as well, as it has not caused me any trouble. I do not know if using numbers in your name works or not, but im using letters and its working fine.
AGAIN:
LOWER CASE P IN patch-z!!!!!

Already found your problem. Your edit NEEDS to be, I repeat, NEEDS TO BE like "patch-a.MPQ" (EXACTLY like that)
The "p" in "patch" HAS to be lowercase. Change that and it will work, and yes, I tested it JUST to make sure, and it worked.
I'm also going to repeat myself on how to fix it because this IS how to fix it, and it works, so everyone having problems, follow these steps:
THERE ARE 2 MAIN REASONS WHY THIS VERSION OF WOWME IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU, SEE HOW TO FIX BELOW:
1. IF YOUR MODEL EDITS AREN'T LOADING AND NOT WORKING, READ THIS:
You need to go to START > Folder Options > View (Up on the top, the tab) > and under "Advanced Settings" UNCHECK "Hide Extension for known file types". Now go to your data folder (or where ever you have your edits in) and you'll see that most likely the ones not working end in ".mpq" and NOT ".MPQ", so what you need to do is make the "mpq" CAPITALIZED.
AND/OR the "p" in "patch" isn't lower case, which is a must, the "p" HAS to be lower case (clarified in the example below):
Example:
This is WRONG: "Patch-x.mpq"
This is RIGHT: "patch-x.MPQ" (THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT ---HAS--- TO BE. THE "p" IN "patch" NEEDS TO BE LOWER CASE AND "MPQ" NEEDS TO BE CAPITALIZED. ALSO, "x" CAN BE ANY LETTER a-z OR ANY NUMBER 4-9 (I think it's 4-9, I don't use numbers).
Then, after you change it, if you want you can go back and re-check "Hide Extension for known file types" so you don't accidentally screw something up.
2. IF YOUR WORLD OF WARCRAFT DOESN'T START UP PROPERLY AFTER DOUBLE CLICKING THE "WOWME.EXE", READ THIS:
If it does this, you probably have a bad DBC edit, because during patch 2.4.3 some DBC files got changed, so check that out and delete the edit if it's causing it, make sure to test it first though. The most common DBC edit that's screwed up is the spell swap for old poison proc. You can get the new and updated old poison proc for 2.4.3 here:
http://www.mmowned.com/forums/model-...c-2-4-3-a.html ([New/Update] Poison Proc 2.4.3)
Hopefully this helped everyone, as I'm sure it did.
And Kynox, keep up the good work.
