I just tested and there is no issue, blizzard servers may have been down or your firewall may be blocking the exe. Make sure you are letting the exe through.

I am just using standard windows firewall. Downloaded and extracted the main file and heroesconfig, put all the exe files i could find to be allowed on the firewall and it's giving me the same starcraft II error. Are there specific ports I need to open?

the password is below the download file, if you cannot find the password, press ctrl+f and type pass

Maybe you can help me at another question. If I start the game an error came up, "Game Client version mismatch with selected region." But my battle.net account is an US battle.net account why it mismatch? or do I need to change the region otherwise?

becuase this version of heroes is an outdated version, and only those with access to the alpha can get the up to date version, and since you do not have an alpha access in your battle net account, you are not allowed to log in. so to play this game, you will have to use the heroesconfig available in the thread and open the game using it

Sorry but i think there is some information missing... that error those guys had is very real i just had it too... following all the steps... and as some guy suggested there i started before changing anything... and still theres the error...

Some errors I found and how I resolved:

Starcraft II Error: Put all the .exe on firewall exception, even if it's not enabled.
Unable to load Map: Click like crazy in the begin game button!

Turn off Windows Defender or any other you may use.

Well, as last try you can create a fake account (I don't recommend use yours) at Battle.net and download starcraft 2 starter.
Maybe it can solve. If you already have it installed I don't know why it's not working =/
