I was level 17 orso at that point (peanuts exp, a joke honestly) and now I've done nothing but go out and walk and play and I was about to hit 29

Bam, banned.
Anyhow, I had it coming. Shouldn't have done it. No reason to be mad. Necro did a good job I guess making the bot. Too bad it's also what got us all banned

Too bad it got some of use banned, is what you meant to say. I never use Necro, only Spegeli's. Any other great insights into why we are all banned? I am sure all of us want to read more speculations at this point.

Yep, seems like they're cracking down on bots hard. Only accounts left for me are the untouched level 30 accounts.

For one this game is extremely unfair! If you live in a big and crowded city you'll always catch the best pokemons cause of the massive amount of lures they place, plus you have tons of pokestops and gyms to farm coins. If you live in a small town or village you're basically out of luck cause only thing you will be catching are a massive amount of pidgeys and rattatas, that is if you have some decent pokestops nearby to gather pokeballs to catch them.
If you're in it for completing the pokemon collection, and that was my goal (I was at 145, just missing Ditto and the 3 legendary pokemons), you'll have a bad time due to the region locked pokemons!
And no way to delete eggs? Seriously? I couldn't care less for the 2Km eggs. It's so fun to walk 2 Km to just get a pidgey (not!)!!!
And why did they showed us in the presentation trailer a Pokemon distance tracker and it wasn't available in the game? Just the shitty 3 step tracker that didn't even worked. At least when Pokevision was working I had the motivation to go out because I knew that I could catch a decent pokemon without walking around like an idiot to just discover that the pokemon that I wanted had already despawned!
What's the fun in knowing that there's a pokemon around, that you're missing, but you have absolutely no idea where to look for it before he goes away? And don't even mention the exp amount! Cause if getting to level 30 is hard, getting to lvl 40 is near to impossible. I'm not even mad for being banned, I'm just disappointed for waiting so long for this game to learn that it's not even fun.
You are absolutely correct. Truth be told, this reminds me so much of the Zynga aka Zagnut games like Farmville and Mafia Wars. They enjoyed a crap load of success and money from in app purchases for a little while and eventually, it all fizzled out. Not because of botting, but because of their greed and incessant attempts to make the game impossible to play without a player spending money to progress or resort to botting. Like Pokemon Go, it wasn't a level playing ground to begin with. Being riddled with errors, server issues, and all out lack of resources to field questions and inquiries, this game won't be interesting for much longer.
They will need to introduce new content and make some serious changes to how XP, etc is handed out based on a player's level to keep folks wanting to play. A player who is a level 20 or higher should never be limited to gaining the same amount of experience as a level 2-10 player. Poor design concept on Niantic's part. #OffMySoapBox

I made an account to bot with during the ban wave, as I've lost three accounts and anticipate to lose all eventually. The bot (necro) located in NYC but my ip is in Au so will be easy to shut down.. I logged on with nox and all was fine, out of no where after being idle for a short while it gave an error and the pogo app closed in nox, i attempted to log in again and was refused, i decided to add a US vpn through hotspot shield and got the "servers humble with your response" after "failed to get game data." I tried on all my accounts and got the same message.. so i turned the VPN off, restarted nox and reloaded up, put in my details all from my Au IP again and it worked, not even a soft ban.. It doesn't make logical sense but maybe some IP's are hard banned and some accounts are ok.. just speculation as i found it really strange.

It's already been determined that only nickname and amount of candy are returned when logging into "banned" accounts before the unexpected answer supposedly related to TOS. So this app just assumes the rest of the values are zero, instead of crashing like some of the other (gostats etc.). This actually means nothing.

In my opinion, Nintendo is making a huge mistake by tracking down all the bots in this game. It's lose-lose situation. What they can do is that mark all the accounts which are bots account and restrict functions like gym or trade from those accounts. This way, the legit users will feel much better because they can do more than those bots account and people who bots can still collect their favorite monsters from home so they should be happy too.. Most importantly, Nintendo will not lose a huge user base by doing that. Those people who bots for a reason, either they don't have time to walk around, or they just simply are not living in such an area that they can do it, but one thing for sure, they love this game. It's stupid to shut off the people who loves your game and that would be a stupidest thing a gaming company would do.. not mention those people will appreciate such a nice gesture and spread the good things about the company. Anyway, there must be solution in which every one is okay or happy instead of what we have now. Nintendo, it's not a wise move..

It isn't Nintendo. They didn't make the game, Niantic did. The only thing Nintendo did was allow Niantic to use "Pokemons" for their game.
