I just received the failed to get game data from the server message 20 minutes ago when I closed the bot, it took me 20 minutes to figure out that's a permanent ban I end up reading this thread and I got shocked that there's people got the message 20 hours ago and they still think it's not a ban !!

I'm stopping any sniping activity, even manual sniping until further dev clarification of what's getting tracked. Because I'm starting to lose some more of my testing accounts to the "failed to get data from server" error.

One of the banned accounts was one, not used in a couple of days. Just logged in earlier today on an iPad to test it, then tried to snipe a few pokemon. Afterwards "failed to get data from server" error. Straight up botting in one location without sniping seems to be safer, as long as it doesn't loot over 1500 Pokestops, and less than 1000 Pokemon in a day.

Sniping with some other accounts, that do not have any record of previous bans seems to still be fine. So there's probably some internal flag system, when an account receives any softban, it will be more likely to receive a harsher ban next time around.

I am of the opinion that sniping is what is giving us away. I have a bot running since yesterday and no ban, I only farm pokestops and catch pkmn, too bad I only catch shit, but hey it is leveling up nicely

Because there's no 100% confirmation on wether people got banned or not unless they were notified while logging in or through email.

True. And I wasn't entirely sure about it either, considering there is no official announcement.

However, at this point, I'm able to make an account receive the "failed to get game data from server" error through specific botting behaviour on previously working accounts. So even though it's entirely possible, that some people have been receiving the same error due to server problems, for people who used bots, I have to assume it's actually a serversided ban without any special announcement to notify them of their bans.

Well here's 100% confirmation on one thing, nobody currently know the exact reason for the error message and how people are getting ban. Everything that everyone is posting is base on assumption that they pulled out of their ass. Either wait for niantic to post an announcement of wether it's an issue or massive ban, or wait for the developers to find the answer

I did no snipe in one of my account that was banned today.
The other that was banned 36hrs agora I did not even play. It was my gf account after the API problem She decided not to bot anymore.

My account I do snipe and I get nothing. Account is fine. So whatever Niantic is doing I have no idea.

I'm perfectly fine with the account being banned. It's silly to think it's anything other than being flagged or banned. I just want these cock suckers to make it official already. All I can hope for is a 30 day ban or something as a warning.

The worst part about it for me was that I was spending endless amount of hours, going out late at night at lures, finding rare pokemon, driving around. Spent $300+ dollars on incubators, max pokemon and items are maxed at 1000, 100 IVs that were LEGITIMATELY caught and leveled from first form (wish there was a way for them to tell whether it was legitimately caught that way too).

But then I decided to try and run a bot to collect from pokestops one night. Then did it again the next night. and then soon stopped. 4 weeks after I can't log in... such a sad mess for me. That's what I get I guess....

Oh wow news on goddamn websites... Any word from the source of this shit aka Niantic? No. None of those sites care about the veracity of their own words, they just want clicks and views, for the love of God.

And for the guy that said some people here are trying to comfort themselves and others while some other people are trying to piss everybody off, some true in that statement but most of all, we are here to try to help each other sharing some info, experiences in our own accounts and so on.

Some people think it's funnier to troll and write bullshit all the time, fine. However, some other people are willing to answer questions on what we know so far. Which is pretty much nothing for sure, as has been said before.

Get this: most of us KNOW THAT WE HAVE BEEN BANNED, we accept that. We're just waiting for an annoucement so we can get some closure on this bitch, that's all.
I strongly believe that I have been banned probably, I botted a little and yes, I do have two others accounts that I botted harcore and they still goddamn fine since doom day.
I'm just gonna take a chill pill and relax while I wait for them so say something on this subject.
