This will be forever a mystery, but it was a nice hunt guys, to be honst I dont think this will ever be solved, but being on a GM server would help a lot with researching.
- Thanks Nyarly for all of the research.

This may not be much help, but if you used a control FP glitch like shifting sands or the druid one you could get down there without dying, but i do not know if it would allow you to open the box
Edit: Sorry about the necro

A newer thread was redirected here, so I guess no one will have a problem with me posting here.
I read trough the most of the thread and there have been some very important points brought up and some interesting attempts. I wish I could rep all of you for your contributions and speculations.
However, I haven't read about anyone trying out the Crypts by Karazhan. It has been suggested multiple times on the Wowhead page but no one writes about failed attempts and there are several of the whispers which suggests Karazhan/Deadwind Pass.
Another interesting thing was what I found in this thread.
He's, like some of you, into the idea of Tirisfal Glades/Whispering Forest.
What caught my mind was this:
which of course leads us to:The fish know all the secrets. They know the cold. They know the dark.
NAGA.
a) The naga race. However the race doesn't appear in tirisfal
b) Bones of Transformation
I immediately jumped to thinking that it would help us with the orb and the dragon skeleton, but a post on the wowhead page wrote the following:
At first I thought damn - the item won't help us at all.I used it under water and there is no underwater breathing or swim speed increase unfortunately.
But! What if - I know it's a long shot - it negates the kill zone around the orb?
Can anyone remember a item which impacted on an area and its triggers? Obviously the kill zone is filled with triggers, but they might have been tweaked in a weird way?
Also, there's a lot of the quotes which doesn't seem to have anything to do with the orb/dragon skeleton, but perhaps they are clues to whatever will happen after reaching the orb?
This thread also have a few interesting ideas and not all of them seem to be tested to it's fullest

Edit; seems like i was late with my findings.

After reading everything its quite interesting guys but... lets get real its blizzard and its like wow 3th expansion i rly doubt they would have made something so complicated and interesting. Its mmogame not some rpg game like Witcher or Skyrim where shit like that exists
please dont flame me thats my opinion
Have you guys considered this combo
1. get this sea horse mount (rare boe from poiseduss - i think it had 450% swimming speed)
2. SS of SS of SS of SS and so go on ? that means - guy who wants to open it has SS, and lock with another SS from other lock SS goes with him and SS him if he will die and so go on ?
3. Somone pointed 1 curious and imho variuable and worthable thing to check - since it's yogg's item - old god maybe you would need to get all possible items related with old gods available to people ?
4. another way - there tons of item who allow you to look "futher" which means see anyone as gnome, without clothes etc - maybe that could help
5. Classicclean - all what I can say about emerald dream is that it will be available to people as normal content =)
6. another thing that someone metioned in this post imho could lead you in dead trap - blizz gave up an ideas of items who could be used for futher tems, it means that since corrupted ashbringer / atiesh there were no items (maybe i missed something) with purpose for next expansions like ashbringer brought people to sm for event, atiesh teleported people to kara and so go on...
7. one GM said "Only agents of the Old Gods know the answe and can only tell other agents of the Old Gods"... hmm find old gods' agent who "fights" on our "side" ?
8. someone metioend about blessing of an old god buff - worth a try to grab A/H to see what other poeple can read with this wha one GM said (i think it was an old gods' language) - maybe mind controll somehow one of them ?
9. you could guys (who have tickets opened) copy pasate that old gods' text which one of GM posted and wait for his answear xD
10. someone already said this i think but maybe yogg's brain or c'thun's stomach ?
11. fml just a tought - who is called himself an "old god" and is on "our side" now ? hakkar ?
12. Soggoth the Slitherer - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft ?
13. from gms' quotes i can think about one thing if we're talking about insanity - completly one - kill c'thun without killing tentacles and hope for something ?
14. there could be other, longer way - gather up people who would like to solve it and divide places to check out (will take weeks/months but prolly someone will find it somehow)
15. someone metioned sunken temple - it was related with scarab lord quest chain
16. someone said that puzzle whispered him "there is no difference between real and unreal" - two things come to my head, 1st - emerald dream, 2nd - 7th but it's and exploit/exploration method ;/
ps. the easter egg thing may couse that if you're for example exploiter then yes you will open it and inside there is automatic ban =) - just saying =P
i'll analize quotes in free time =)
Ketrish (or anyone else considering looking into this), please don't waste your time on this. There is nothing here. Blizzard would not spend their time on something so complex that would never be seen by anyone, as it would be counterintuitive; for example the introduction of LFR - as stated many times by GMs - allows all the players to see the content, so it would be completely hypocritical to create a seemingly unsolvable mystery like this. The GMs are simply playing with you, the "clues" you have decided were implied are just misunderstandings or them having some fun. There are several other reasons this is impossible, such as the fact that an event (if it did exist) would have been datamined. The main idea of solving the "puzzle" appears to be getting to those bones in Vashj'ir or going to some other unreachable place, which in itself it completely flawed as it would require some sort of offline mode, map edit or otherworld exploit - this would blatantly not do anything server side.
Though it is clearly an interesting and enjoyable thing to look into and play around with, the time could be better invested in many other things - one that immediately comes to mind is finding other exploits. Creating a list of possibilities like Ketrish has above and then doing a trial and error of them would work the same way for finding an exploit as it would for unlocking this box (if it was possible), so such a skill would be useful. Hopefully people will stop with this thread now, rant over!
so any evidence to back up this statement or your just talking nonsense? the smiley face is annoying tbh its like "i know something you dont but im just making it up anyway". Prove me wrong and back it up with evidence.5. Classicclean - all what I can say about emerald dream is that it will be available to people as normal content =)
sadly i dont think this will be able to be opened but the genius of the community on ownedcore is strong in this thread, the imagination of some people and the efforts they go to for testing theories is commendable.
As for the others, the box won't open. Stop trying.Tigole on Sat, 06 Dec 2003 06:01:04 PST
Actually, we have some pretty cool stuff planned for druids. They will definitely have a link to the Emerald Dream. There's also a zone on the way to the peak of Mount Hyjal called Moonglade that will be very core to druid characters. Our *master of Warcraft lore*, Chris Metzen, is never short on ideas when it comes to the druid class. I was running around the Emerald Dream last Thursday... you guys are in for a treat. The level designers are doing a killer job.

The Emerald Dream is shaping up to be extremely cool. We don't want to preview any of that content yet as it is *endgame* and we want some surprises for players. [...] The zone is massive and beautiful. And once the content team is done with it, it will be exceedingly challenging >=]

As for the Emerald Dream, there are no plans for anything as of yet but it is a consideration for the future. The Emerald Dream opens up a lot of different opportunities and the Burning Crusade is definitely not going to be the last of the expansion packs. There are many different places and storylines that can be pursued. The story is going to keep growing and as it does so, people will get to experience it.
You linked stuff dated 2003 and 2006, call me picky but don't think that's the most relavant. cheers for trying tho.
or (but can't be so simple :P) - anyone tried to visit places metioned in whispers ;> (all of them) ?
ps. or maybe it was justa big spoiler like someone noticed it on wh ?

I have been to Emerald Dream, along with many other people. Just untextured stuff Blizzard trashed.
Maybe one day we'll have an "Emerald Nightmare" Expansion... just one mans dream
And this box can't be opened, any thing that would be relevant to its unlock would have been datamind
Just let this thread die
