Has anyone looked into the code to see if it was coded to be possible?

Me and my buddy managed to open the box, and all I got was this lousy shirt.
What Atselmya? How do you know this phrase?? PN me please. Its impossible...
I have opened the box hundreds of times and i have still not heard "Beneath the shadow of the darkened spire, there is no light, no mercy, only void, and the chaos within." whispered. Is it possible that this is of significance? Maybe the location you are on when using the box matters....

Its been confirmed more then ones that the box cant be opened as of yet. I dont get why you keep trying, Maybe in MOP
Well. I do not realy expect it to open. But if we can prove that it reacts differently depending on where, when or how you use it. We would have disscovered something important imo.
Great and inspirational thread!
It's fascinating how human imagination can build up something bigger from something small, that might've not meant to have deeper meanings, to find possible alternative solutions and make them sound like it might actually be true (reminds of religions and conspiracy theories). Without the ability to find something from "nothing", many real discoveries would've been not done. So whoever made up the quotes for the box, may or may not have consciously thought of them to point at any exact location or that it could be opened some day. I'm somewhat sceptic but it would be great if the game developers could add this kind of depth to the game and some nearly impossible to solve mysteries. Maybe some day there will be something more. And often the search itself is the most interesting part of any mystery, and the challenges needed to conquer when trying to get closer. The truth is out there...
@ Buzzler
Well said.
Okay I have two suggestions for this box mystery. First in relation to randomperson13's question; there is a giant mysterious floating black box under a mountain in Shadowmoon Valley. I suggest someone try to use the "fly while not mounted" glitch and get there and use the box in the uh... box.
Second "Vain attempt". Blizzard loves to give misleading hints and make puns, so why not try to open this in a vein, like a weather vein or a volcano vein like oh say the volcano the big black box is hiding under.
All who possess the blade go mad.
I can confirm the area with skeletons is DIRECTLY effected my fatigue. You wont get fatigue anywhere else around it, but once you get in the bones are (visible on minimap, when nothing else it) You get fatigue, and your minimap goes blank. The direct ground is a kill zone like that of outlands' nether regions. When you die here, you will be released to westfall (Alliance) but your corpse will REMAIN at the location. Possibly something to look into? I'll get back in a few minutes with my results.
IMPORTANT: THERE IS A 12TH WHISPER!
I was around the skeleton (while alive) and hit my box, this is what was said:
"Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron whispers: In the land of Ny'alotha there is only sleep."
Anyone know the lore of this Ny'alotha?
Edit: 12th whisper not mentioned on the original post, I did not discover it.

As a ghost, going to the skeletons area (Being drop-killed by void) teleports you to the graveyard instantly. You cannot choose not to release, as you are already a released spirit. I'm thinking something along the lines of DC macros. Possibly get Votuus or Raov to look into this, and with the "icy Heart" clue, that almost confirms that this is the location, correct? Eternally sleeping dragon, rocks, sunken heart. Its a little obvious, isnt it?
"there is no sharp distinction between the real and the unreal."
This may reference "Yogg Saron's Corpse" in icecrown. There has been speculation whether or not it is actually him, but it is the same NPC model.
"The stars sweep chill currents that make men shiver in the dark."
Could mean you must go there at night?
There are many more quotes, go look them all up on wowhead. The whispers posted are the ones thought to be relevant.
Ny'alotha is the ancient city where the old gods sleep. The olds gods are a reference to the ancient beings (Most notably Cthulhu) from H.P. Lovecrafts' novels. Ny'alotha referencing sunken city of R'lyeh "The nightmare corpse-city of R'lyeh…was built in measureless eons behind history by the vast, loathsome shapes that seeped down from the dark stars. There lay great Cthulhu and his hordes, hidden in green slimy vaults." The call of Cthulhu and all of H.P. Lovecrafts works are a MUST read if you are into this whole puzzle box and ancient demons stuff :-)
I doubt the box can be opened, but I love a good hunt!!!!
