The fey-drunk darters were all spawned but just flying around, no ritual was happening at the time I put on the furbolg illusion. The glow effect that I saw was different in color from joell28's pic -- my hands were glowing green. I am a Gnome Mage, and my friend is a Worgen Druid. No other shapeshifting methods were used. No pets were out either.

I have the original Dartol's Rod of Transformation (which only has a 1 MINUTE cooldown)... I'll have to get in on all this Furbolg fun...

@x40xcalx, are you saying that the glow effect you saw was a different colour from the one in joell28's pics?

What class/race are you and your friend?

Did you try any other shapeshift forms besides furbolg? Whether by item or by class ability (druid, shaman)?

What pets/companions did you have out?

And to anybody else: has this weird glowy effect been reported by anyone, ever before? Or is this a genuine discovery?

All this, along with the clearest confirmation yet reported by Tgwmos... this is really going somewhere.
we waited 2 hours for it to start we actuly made offers XD ( for fun ) kiting animal inside the ring etc and then killing em im a ret/my friend is a mage

was just gonna say it looks kinda like a frostbolt, and both guys who reproduced it (though different colours apparently) said they were mages, I'm there atm on a shaman with the furbolg rod, and a druid on a different account, I can summon my mage there and use an illusion pot on the druid to look like a furbolg, then summon my mage with that and use a pot on her to look like a furbolg too via the druid (shaman and mage share an account) and see if i get any weird frostbolt stuff, unless it only works with proper furbolg rather than illusion pot one

ok so I just did what I said in previous post, and looks like unfortunately that it could be some sort of bug, I had 3 accounts open here (yay for SoR) and could only see the green thing on the lv85 druids PoV, whilst lv82 druid couldn't see it, dunno if that means anything due to levels or not though or if just random bug. Couldn't see the green thing on my shaman whilst in furbolg form though. This was with my mage having furbolg with potion of illusion, then I used frostbolt on a critter, sat down and could see this green thing, I lost furbolg form afterwards and don't have enough chars/summons free to get my shaman back to steal form from to see if it works like this in a different zone or if specifically here, though it's kinda strange and never seen anything like this before, bug or not. This was with the Sprite Darters not being here, although after posting this they have spawned, but I don't have the puzzle box to check anything else out.

edit; just realised my shaman/mage are in the same spot so I can turn mage into furbolg again whilst Darters are doing the ritual, and I'll sit on a mushroom with the green thing (assuming it'll be there again) but I do think the green thing is probably just a bug - they surely won't make something like this mage only?

just tested in SW too as furbolg mage and it's the same green thing, so it is nothing special about the mushroom circle regarding that. I wonder why mine is green and joell28 saw blue ones though, hrm, might depend on mage spec or something? I used frostbolt and fireball and both times it was green for me

I still think the circle could be related to the puzzle box, but don't think the furbolg has anything to do with it

Well, after not thinking about this for long, Im just going to go to the source, open the box in:
    Yogg-saron brain room
    right next to Yogg-saron
Use it just before I go insane in the fight
because you know, its worth a shot

Another curious note about the mushroom circle: I can't remember specifically what the name is, but there's an invisible object/NPC you can target in the center of the ring, which is what I assume the darters target during the scripted event. Its name isn't exciting or provocative, it's like the invisible orb-shooters in the ToC raid for the Val'kyr Twins fight (which I also can't remember the name of).

I think that is called "Faerie Circle" this is from a comment on wowhead - "The faerie circle is there even when the Fey-Drunk Darters aren't singing. Just '/target fae' and it appears." yet I am there now and have been for a few hours, and wasn't able to target it at all, atm the Darters are all there but haven't done the event yet, unless that comment is wrong and it's only targettable during the event

this is from the info on a youtube vid of the event " 7 Fey-Drunk Darters spawn outside the ring, one at a time and it takes about 40 minutes, and 10-15 minutes after all have spawned they gather around the ring of mushrooms and start to channel a golden beam to a Faerie Portal in the center" buuuuuuuut there have been 7 Darters here for over 2 hours now and they haven't started the event.. unless the timing on that comment is wrong, but I can't find anywhere that says the actual time, most wowhead stuff says around 10 min after the last Darter has spawned :S

I know I've been able to target it outside the event, but I don't recall the specific circumstances. It also could have been changed, it was a good while ago that I checked it out myself.
