Okay lol I didn't know that the drop chances are THAT low.. :P Less than a percent. 20 resets nothing.
Btw for the druids that haven't figured this out yet.
1) Kill the damned who is currently fighting the middle guards.
2) Approach the two.
3) Root one and start running towards an Ebon Guard.
4) Root him when he's on the ebon guard or very near so he will aggro.
5) The other mob will now be running to you, you must hold him in roots and dps the other one or try to root him on another guard.
6) DPS em
7) profit.

I doubt the drop rate is less than a percent, I'm on around 23 resets and I've had a Wodins and some ele shammy pants drop so far (2 days ago, ah'd for 20k).
The drop rate is pretty low though, coupled with the limited amount of em you can fight i wouldn't really consider this a reliable way to make cash, more like something to do when you get 15 mins spare.
Oh and yeah doing this as a druid is so much easier and quicker than doing it as a rogue, especially since you can reliably get both mobs aggroed onto separate guards.
awesome gonna try this.
It's still work

Okay i checked wowhead and it's actually 2% on the ring and 3% on wodin.
The Damned - NPC - World of Warcraft
As someone already mentioned, it's easy as a shadow priest without a car or potions.
0) Reset
1) 3 random adds rush into the room, 1 left, 1 middle, 1 right usually. DPS the middle one as shown in the rogue video.
2) Shackle one Damned (A).
3) Kite the other one (B) to an Ebon Guard.
4) Fade just before reaching the Ebon Guard.
5) DPS (B). Reshackle (A) once in a while. With only moderate gear, you can DPS (B) down before it kills 1 Ebon Guard.
The only thing is... this is terribly boring and I lost the motivation after learning how to avoid any deaths :-)

I'm having some issues here. About 20% of the time I can't get a GD Ebon Guard to agro until right after I die. If I pull through one the odds are even worse. If I stand on one, fade, and dispersion it works more but still not totally reliable. Thing will just beat on me til dead, then the Ebon jerk will agro it. Same issue sometimes with the 2nd one once shackle is off.
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. I was fading too late. Hafta pre-fade, I was trying to do it right as they got by the NPC's, not earlier.

I'm still not able to get them on the guards 100%, but usually can just juggle shackles etc to try again. Or just get out of the zone. Sometimes they just ignore the ebon guys for no apparent reason.
I just started doing this on my mage. Sometimes I get unlucky, but most of the time I am able to kill both of them. Thanks for this and +rep.
Farmed em from zero rep until friendly. Got 2 epics so far :3 Both were healer items so they sold only for 3k ish each. Still, better than nothing.![]()
I've found a way to kill one and reset the other one every time. While the concept of this will work for any class, please keep in mind that it will be ridiculously difficult to pull off with some classes. Some information first:
- I do this as a Horde Druid.
- It's easiest to do when specced Balance.
- Torgos is the key.
Some things you might have already learned from this thread: When "The Damned" end up killing an Ebon Champion, they seem to like finding every other Ebon Champion they can and attacking them. However, this does not seem to be the case with Torgos. After killing Torgos, they seem to go on their typical "frenzy" killing all of the low HP Ebon Blade mobs; however, if they haven't agro'ed or been attacked by an Ebon Champion before engaging Torgos, they'll run back and reset.
Another thing you may have learned from this thread is that, if one mob dies and the other resets, it will cause the other mob to respawn. This is basically a short explanation of how I accomplished this as a Tauren Druid.
1) Root Mob A in place and have Mob B chase you to Torgos in the back left
2) Root Mob B next to Torgos. He and Torgos will start fighting while Mob A's root breaks and he begins chasing you. Root Mob A away from Torgos.
3) Attack Mob B until it is almost dead. Keep Mob A rooted while you do this so you don't die (duh). Around 300k life is good.
4) Break Mob A's root (Wrath, etc.) and have him chase you to Torgos. Root him near Torgos before Mob B dies. Wait for Mob B to die so you get credit.
5) Torgos will attack Mob A without resetting his own HP, meaning he will die soon. At this point, you run out of the instance. You want to guesstimate how long it will take for Torgos to die before you re-enter. Or, if you're a Druid like me, you should be able to enter and Stealth and just stay near the front of the instance.
6) Torgos dies. Mob A goes on a killing spree and massacres all the low HP mobs on the same side as Torgos. He will not, however, agro Ebon Champions.
7) Eventually, if you didn't agro him at all upon re-entering, Mob A will reset (you can actually wait a minute outside of the instance to make sure he resets, first).
When Mob A resets, Mob B will respawn.
Important things to note for this method:
Torgos seems to take about 8 minutes to respawn. He also doesn't seem to respawn if you are in combat, so if you want to re-use the method, you'll want to wait near the front of the instance.
Due to Torgos ~8 minute respawn, using this method alone to solo 1 mob at a time is actually slower than just killing 2 and being done with it. As such, I usually use this method to get 3 kills per reset, as opposed to only 2.
Lastly, I understand that this explanation can be difficult to understand. It's probable that the only people who understand how to make what I said work are the people who already excel at killing the 2 mobs, then resetting the instance. If you're just beginning, you'll probably need to wait until I include a video to see what I mean.
That brings me to the final thing I have to say: I intend to come back to this thread with a video showing how to accomplish what I mentioned. Unfortunately, my computer is a piece of shit, so I cannot use a recording program myself while attempting this or I'll lag too much to pull it off. One of these days, I expect one of my friends will be bored enough to follow me around while Stealthed and record how I do it. We tried it once, but the video was very confusing, so we need to time to figure out how to make it easy to view. If that doesn't work, I'll just end up using his computer to do the whole thing myself.
Enjoy, and hopefully I can bring a video to you soon.

I've had around 200 resets, and I haven't seen a single epic drop. I hear RNG is random.I doubt the drop rate is less than a percent, I'm on around 23 resets and I've had a Wodins and some ele shammy pants drop so far (2 days ago, ah'd for 20k).
