Skip part of a long Questline - Scepter of the Shifting Sands

Hello, in The Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline you have a lot of running to do. If you want to be more to the point like me I skipped running up and down Tanaris just for the mermaid part.

Draconic for Dummies - Quest - World of Warcraft

When you receive this quest you can just take the mermaid factor out by having a DK path of frost, Or if you could water walk and mount or levitate and mount that will work.

For my druid I glyphed Aqua form so I got 100% speed to the island without dying.

I am sure you can use the turtle and Crusader aura and get to the island mostly safe.

How ever usually people would have to go to find the (in my opinion) hard to find mermaid and then run back to the gnome then back down again. I hoped this helped some people!

Besides It's a lot Easier with the Mermaid, She gives 200% Speed.
And you gotta be Pretty Selfish to Torture a DK or what ever to come with you Rather than just do the Bloody 10 min Quest...

The turtle mount is unaffected by speed altering effects, like a paladin's crusader aura, as it is stated in her tooltip. If you use the turtle you will die exactly before the safe waters from fatigue.

Mermaid is not part of the quest line. She is a "subquest" that becomes active while you are on a specific main quest. And like other examples of same type (i.e. syndicate letter horde quest @ hillsbrad, or Prayer Beads & dog quest in Hellfire for alliance, or plenty of others) it can be skipped if person knows what to do. "Oh hi guys i got an exploit if you get the quest for Spirit Vision at tauren starting area you dont need to drink it and follow the wolf, just go to XX,YY and you can complete the quest".

As for repost, cba to search whole forum for it, but it was posted a few times (and was still not an exploit) back when people were doing this for Scarab Lord stuff in tbc (yeah, because they didnt get it in vanilla).

wait a sec... how is this an exploit to water walk to the island with crusader aura or other means? I mean, from what this sounds like I could post something that said "EXPLOIT: Use elixir of water walking to run across water quicker and complete quest rather than have to swim" -- Umm, isn't this more of a tip than an explot? A mean, a very common sense tip? I read the post twice to make sure I didn't just misunderstand what you were saying and I still don't get the exploit. This really just seems like a tip.

I consider it an exploit because usually the quest requires you to do another quest to do this quest. The point is It is faster.

It does not require you to do it. It just makes it easier if you do it.
If it required it, then it would say "now go to mermaid and turn this quest to her, and she will give you follow up".
Instead it says "go to the island, and mermaid might help you if you need".
