I have the impression that Poe Smoother is the main culprit. It also brings up another question or theory, does MTX and years played on an account provide a safety buffer or tolerance range that impacts the chances of getting banned. My theory is that new accounts have 0 tolerance and any cheating will get you banned quickly. Where as those with 10 year old accounts, with few hundred $$$ MTX, might have a high tolerance and only get banned with excessive RMT or botting. Either way, I look forward to Areko's response to see how serious this is.

I use GameHelper for a few leagues for now, with no client modifiers, no RMT, no exploits and still I have the account up and still playing. Do not abuse of software's or exploits and you should be fine

That is a good approach, and I myself have been following it. But we also need to test this against the latest changes by GGG which appears to be a more aggressive approach to cheaters. At this point, especially prior to league launch, they may just ban anyone and everyone who uses ANY modifications to the game...

The thought of "I've paid for MTX, I'm less likely to be banned" has been a tin foil hat theory for a long time. It might have SOME credibility compared in terms of making your account look less like a f2p bot account... but I know multiple people got banned (even recently) with thousands spent in MTX.

I haven't heard much in terms of GGPK edits causing bans... most have been tied to doing RMT or more recently using any sort of bot-like input heavy macro (especially for crafting) like ASH or AHK macros. Bots also obviously got hit hard since they're all about bot-like inputs. Take care with trusting any one ban report (such as Areko's) since you never know what they might be forgetting to mention using or doing. Maybe they use a trade macro for grabbing currency and putting it in the trade window... which on the surface sounds fine and easily forgettable but could be seen as bot-like behavior. If you start seeing a large number of people reporting using GGPK edits and getting banned.. then certainly be suspicious.

That said, we've got a thread for ban discussion if you wanna talk about it further. Not sure we should clutter up this thread much with general ban theories =P

Thank you for responding Sychotix, that was helpful, and I was not aware of the ongoing discussion on ban avoidance in the thread you linked. I do hope that when the water settles, we will continue to be able to use these "assistance apps" as it just makes the game considerably more enjoyable, at least for me. Hopefully, it is just tied to "bot-like behavior".

With Schism feature do you care about monsters icon that GH draw for legion monster?

I do care about radar showing the legion chests and stasis mobs, no matter if I use schism or not. I don't use timeless conflict keystone, because its starts schism to fast and you can't reach all rare stasis mobs. I use the atlas points for increased stasis duration and damage to stasis mobs.
