    The last 3 columns are all 0's for every Scourge, so ... yeah. I'll just keep searching around and experimenting with what I can and hopefully find a solution. Thanks for all the help :]

    After 12 hours of experimenting, searching forums, etc, I finally got it ;o I had to go into CharSections and and change around a bunch of files ... I wouldn't recommend it. But yeah, turns out CharacterHairStyle or w/e had nothing to do with it :x

    Thanks a lot for this guide, I've wanted to fix jaws for a long time now.

    But there's this problem... I've model changed nightelf female -> scourge male and followed this guide. It does work all good without helms or with 'open' helms such as engi goggles, but as soon as I equip any type of hood the jaws hide.

    [img=http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/7888/wowscrnshot011808134535fy8.th.jpg]
    [img=http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/1474/wowscrnshot011808134542mv6.th.jpg]

    Is there any way to make it work properly everywhere?

    Also, I wanted to make jaws appear for everybody, as in, for every 'feature' choice possible (so that I'd see all those undead males which are replacing my nelf females in-game with jaws, not only myself and those who picked the same featureid as I did).

    I am modelchanging NE female to undead male, so I just put a "2" in field3 where it's "4" in field1 (night elf race) and "1" in field2 (female gender). Problem is that it does work for all the 9 possible 'feature' choices present in that database, but there are actually 10 'feature' choices available in-game for night elf females, and ofcourse the jaws dont appear for one of them.

    Is it possible to fix this too?

    Pics to make it more clear:
    [img=http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/1861/ffspz1.th.gif]
    [img=http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/5935/wowscrnshot011808142734mb6.th.jpg]
    (Only this one is missing the jaws - whichever other 'markings' setting I set, the jaws are displayed fine.)

    P.S.
    Guess it can be solved by simply adding another row with 4-1-10-... data, but DBC Editor cant add rows or atleast I didn't find how to. And anyway, if we do add some data to the games database, wont it make it much more detectable?

    Just wanted to relay my experience with this edit.

    I used CharacterFacialHairStyles.dbc from local-enUS.MPQ at first. The resulting patch worked when I tried it in wowmodelviewer. Unfortunately wow would not load with the edit fix.

    I then used the CharacterFacialHairStyles.dbc from patch-enUS.MPQ, and the edit loaded successfully.

    That's why I specifically told you to use patch-enXX.mpq.

    For some reason, I became confused or missed that (important) detail. It must have been all the switching back and forth between this guide, the hairstyle guide, and various other posts in my quest to quickly absorb as much relevant info as possible. The fact that it working in wowmodelviewer didn't help either.

    In any case my NightElfFemale -> ScourgeMale conversion has gone very well. I have the face/skin color combo I want, a proper jaw, and the proper hair and hair color.

    The things left on the todo list are:
    -Figure out why the NightElfFemale chest is still there! o.O
    -Figure out why the eyes and eyeglow are not showing up.
    -Figure out facial/scalp features. Luckily my original character had no features and my edit turned out the same. But I would still like to know how to do this for the sake of knowing and possibly helping others achieve their desired look.

    Thanks for the guide!

    Very good!
    But.. is it detectable or something.. I mean you could simply make a full race swap like this right?
    + Filesize changes are detecable aren't they?

    +rep tho

    Hey!

    Great work!

    I just have a problem.. Might sound noobish, but here it comes:
    How do I load the edited CharacterFacialStyle.dbc-thingie I extracted to my desktop into the MPQ-file again?

    Thanks.

    Create a new mpq or edit a custom mpq, go to Pack -> Add file to archive.

    I'm having the same problem, I'm using the cloth Illidan helm and the jaw disappears, is there a thing i change so the feature doesn't hide with the hood is on? +rep to anyone who can tell me :P
    EDIT: ok i think if you edit the geosets in one of the dbc files you can put the jaw on with the hood or you have to edit the helmets geosets to enable the facial feature of your character before the swap (eg: gnomes earrings) somehow :S
    so because i used a gnome female -> UD male i need to change the helm to show my gnome females facial features while wearing the helm, so it shows my UD males jaw while the helm is on... think that should work.

    ok i think the file to use to dbc edit items to change to show geosets (facial features) is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS patch-enUS (will be different for other game versions).
    with mywarcraftstudio i extracted items.dbc... think it might be there.
