Custom Weapon Model Question

Okay so I was trying to figure out how to make a model replace my weapon. For example I wanted to make the Aurens custom sword model replace my staff. I have been looking at the forums to find a way to make it to replace my weapon (the weapon it was set to replace was another one) it came with extra files to make it work for other weapons, however I have no Idea how to do this.

For this you will need Ladik's MPQ Editor and WoW Model Viewer. First off find your weapon's model in WoW Model Viewer. So you know the name of it. Also in top-left there is FILE function in WoWModelViewer click it then do extract textures and find the name of the texture and its location. Now you know the name of the texture.
Then open the patch with Auren's custom sword and extract the sword .m2,blp and .skin file. Rename the sword.m2 and sword00.skin to for example yourstaffname.m2 and yourstaffname00.skin
Also don't forget the textures rename the Auren's custom sword .blp to yourstafftexture.blp
Okey now open Ladik's and open Auren's patch again and add your staff model and skin in Item > object components > weapon.
