Draenei to High Elf 5.0

Good day everyone I am back once more to give you the opportunity to play as High Elves on the Alliance. There aren't many who wish to do so but nevermind that. My high elf mage is by far the coolest character I have. I have read plenty of threads over the years by people who just wanted to be able to do this. This is my gift to you.

This time the patch does not change the elekk mounts. But I have solved the hood issue. The draenei npcs no longer look like blue skinned elves. I had nothing to do with it. Apparently the way npc skins work have been changed.

Remember to put the file in this directory WorldofWarcraft\Data\enGB\

Also if you really want that perfect outfit for your elf but don't have or can't get that transmog gear I recommend learning how to hex edit. If you ask nicely on this thread I might make a short guide.

The reason it doesn't work is because the .dbc files in my patch are from the enGB client. If you could extract copies of the dbc files with those names from your enUS client and post a download link to them for me then I will gladly make a enUS version of the patch for you.

I use this program to extract the files. MPQ Archives - Downloads
Remember to check the file sizes before you upload them. The files are posted in many mpq's and only one of them is the right one (the biggest). Check the newest mpq's first.

Hi, I hope you can help me with an issue.
I would love to replace my Male Blood Elf model, even Human Female model, with the High Elf Model.
How hard is it to do something like this.

Hey Jsxwowpwn

To change blood elves to high elves is relatively simple. To do it you need to change the names of the .blp files to match the right number and order of blood elf .blp files but only do this on the blp files that involve the eyes. Just delete everything else. And to make the illusion complete you should also change the race name in the ChrRaces.dbc.

With Humans you would also need to match the blp files to the human ones. Plus you would need to change all the dbc files in the patch and rename the sound files to match also.

Both of these are quite time consuming to do especially if you aren't familiar with making race swap patches.

I recommend using blizzards race change service (or faction change). I know it is a bit exspensive but trust me. It is worth it.

How often do people get caught model editing? I would like to do it but I am worried about getting banned

Hey Vekin101

I have been using model edits since 2009 without being banned or even warned. It is extremely rare to be banned for model editing. It is nowhere near as bad or as obvious as botting or hacking. As long as you use the safety measures (see 1st link in my top post) you will be perfectly safe. Remember that model editing is only changes the game from your perspective and not others. You can play a plate wearing high elf mage and noone but you will be able to tell.

I know it can be a bit scary to risk being banned. But some things are worth the risk. To me playing wow is 10 times as fun with model editing than without. I hope this helps

To make an enTW version I would need for you to extract these files CharacterFacialHairStyles.dbc ChrRaces.dbc HelmetGeosetVisData.dbc and post them here. I would then make the new patch for you and post it. You will need this program MPQ Archives - Downloads to extract the files. Check the most recent added files first. High numbers means recent patches.

Or you could simply use the program to remove the 3 files from the patch and run it on your own pc. It is only those 3 files that makes it a location specific patch. But you would lose the "high elf" race name. The ears would not go through the helmets and their boots would not be visable.

What ever you choose is fine by me. I hope this helps

I have tried locating the files on my own computer. They should be in the same places on your computer. Use the program to extract these .mpq files. The dbc files you need are in a box / case called DBFilesClient.

World of Warcraft\Data\Cache\patch-base-16016.MPQ
DBFilesClient\HelmetGeosetVisData.dbc

World of Warcraft\Data\enTW\locale-enTW.MPQ
DBFilesClient\ChrRaces.dbc

World of Warcraft\Data\misc.MPQ
DBFilesClient\CharacterFacialHairStyles.dbc

Once you find it right click on the files and choose "extract". After that just upload the files here and I will make the patch. I hope it helps

Also the patch does include female high elves. Equality is important after all.
