If you want to save your WoW files, don't format the partition they are on. Genius, truely genius.

For everyone that doesn't get it, basically you create a separate part of your hard drive out of your free space that acts as another hard drive itself, that when when you format your crappy filled up C drive, whatever was transfered to that new hard drive is not lost.

About a month ago, I set up dual boot on this computer. Initially, I installed WoW on Vista (came with the comp), but it lagged horribly. So, I set up a dual boot with Vista and XP. Logged on to XP and, just for fun, I tried to run WoW from the drive that Vista is on. Worked like a charm.

I guess this is somewhat the same thing. Very handy indeed.

When you reinstall your computer (reinstall your OS, e.g. Windows XP/Vista) you will come to a part when you can choose wether or not you want to make a "partition". This basicly splits your harddrive into two or more pieces. You usually do this to put your Windows files in a separate partition to keep it away from all your crappy files/pr0n (Those you put in the other part of the harddrive).

So what he means is that you make a partition and install WoW there, so whenever you need to format your harddrive, you can choose not to format your WoW partition, so you always have it there and wont have to reinstall it time after time.
