Best Class and race for PvP?

the infamous question. every class has its counter. the most OP class on the other hand, is a different question, but even then certain classes will beat them. now i'd have to say either dk or ret pally. ud or human have the best racials imo

Okay, well there are a whole bunch of things you can choose from here, the key points you asked for were DPS, and a long life span.

What i would suggest for you would be a Human Paladin, or a Night Elf Warrior, as said by you. If you want a comfortable environment due to your past experience with rogues, i would suggest a druid, as it has a rogue-like form and is a little bit easier of a transition.

Paladins last a long time and do pretty great dps as ret paladins, the only bad thing about paladins is that compared to warriors, their dps isnt as good in my opinion. They still last a long time and the human racials help out a little bit i would guess.

Warriors are honestly just plain out scary to me, so I would suggest, if you want to scare the shit out of people by being a really nasty warrior, go for it. They do great DPS, about 5k regulars on some moves, and they definately last a long time because they can hit about 30k health if properly geared ( pisses me off >.>)

It is your choice, but those are the ones i would choose from. If you want to make a death knight go for it but they are highly unoriginal and no one likes them, so have fun with that
