So roguesshould be able to kill paladins/druids in under 2-3-4 minutes? Rogue have way too many fantasies.

There is no best race or class. Some races have more useful racials for pvp, others have useful stuff for pve. The racial's aren't the major factor, neither is a class. It only depends on your skills... Although I do think that deep frost mages are OP, and they turn even more overpowered with the current Wrath talents

Is this a joke? I play a rogue in high level arena. we run resto druid/rogue and i have yet to see a team we cant beat. It may take 5 minutes but the point is at the end we win. As far as dps classes go rogues are the most OP right now. Sure healers last forever but thats all the really do. they can only survive as long as their mana holds up and then it GG.

    I hate resto/rogue combo's >_< even though hunter/resto is even worse (survivability meet's cc).

Back onto the topic, Best class? One that you find enjoyable to look at with stat/gear improvement and play in my opinion.

Race? Well there is no best race, it all depends on what situation comes up where and how. Every race has their plus's for certain situations just like classes do.

I have a resto druid and a rogue and I prefer the druid in PvP. You have a very high survival rate.

    *Yawn*

You wanna kill and not be a push over.

Which means you need offensive power which is almost any class in the game some do it better. You just need to decide if you want melee or caster classes.

You dont wanna be a pushover so you need one of two things, the ability to heal. Or the ability to wear the plate armor.

    Which leaves you with..

    Druid
    Paladin
    Shadow Priest
    Warrior
    Shaman

Mages can't heal nor wear heavy armor.
Warlocks have health stones but you can not spam them.
Rogue cant wear heavy armor nor can it heal either.

Moving along now that we have slimmed down the choices.

Shadow Priest rely on gear, if you dont have great gear your gonna get rolled.

Warrior can't heal but you have the heavy armor and do nice damage so keep a pocket healer with you or pray your in a BG with a healer that isn't stupid.

Shaman your gonna go elemental.. period. You can heal as well as dish out casting damage. Your heals are not the best but you can still run off on your own. You also get mail armor.

Druid speaks for its self. You can heal yourself. You can spam casting damage if you wish or go the feral tree which allows for you to be a rogue who can heal himself. Silly rogues. No mana for them. Only downfall is it requires you to shift out of forms.

Paladin allows for multiple options as well. Possibly the biggest discussion amongst opinions. Holy spec allows for healing and damage. You just dont have a steady spammable offensive attack. Well not til after WotLK. You can go the Ret tree which allows for more constant damage not to mention seal twisting for ALOT of burst damage and the ability to heal. Protection tree is not a pvp setup. Not to mention you get to wear the heavy end armor. Again did I say you can heal. Not to mentio you have bubbles to make you completely immune to attacks. As well as aura's that allow for enhanced movement speed as well as other reductions, atk increase, etc etc.

So there is a basic run down, Im not gonna get into all the changes post WotLK but now you have a better epxlaining on what you can do with what.

Wanna run off on your own.

Paladin. Druid. Well geared Shadow Priest. Elemental Shaman.

Have a pocket healer - Warrior.

All the other classes lack use of heavy armor / healing.

Yup, I agree with Rawwork, because if you have no way to take hits your abilities don't matter. I would personally go with a druid for their ability to hunt down the weak while still being able to heal yourself if needed. Druids are anti-gank, but can dish it out.

If you want shaman then you should obviously take Tauren because of their stun racial.
