I had a look into it
By the sounds of it there was some awesome battle in Northrend between Aegwynn and Sargeras after she heard about the falling of her son. Aegwynn came out the victor obviously, imprisoning Sargeras' Body in the tomb of Sargeras and banishing his spirit to the nether or something like that...
Then Aegwynn turned evil because he had manipulated her on a level she didn't understand
How the hell she killed him i don't know. He is ridiculously powerful, immune to all mortal weapons and is often also immune to the Immortal ones...
Hope it helps
Edit: Uch i can't wait till i can get back on WoW... seeing the new posts and stuff but not being able to do it is just sickening... and i was just about to post my video guide to how to do ramparts chests...
Oh well.. oh and if anyone steals my idea i will flame the craps outta you cos ive already posted about it

How did the ashbringer start.
Cheese Cake?
It happened before she had Medivh.
Otherwise correct. I don't know exactly what kind of magic she used to kill him with, but it must have been extremely powerful.
Also, the reason she turned "evil" was that Sargeras' spirit went into her womb. And when she got pregnant he possessed Medivh.
Well there are rumors that she only fought a weakend, half-summoned Sargeras. You know the drill, whenever Blizzard does something that goes against lore they usually tell you that it was only a fraction of whoever.
Somewhere in this thread is a long-ass ashbringer post.
exactly my point 'long ass'
Ashbringer is such a massive topic
OK OK! I have a question no one has said.
The hearthstone. Background, Who made it? How? What makes it do what it does....thanks.
I guess you could relate it to the good ol' scroll of town portal from Warcraft 3, but it doesn't go back further than that and doesn't come with any lore
sorry mate :P
Ah, your ears are fine. It's what's between 'em that scares me.
In one of Knakks novels, Well of Eternity his heroic come across an island that possesses and unknown evil. They are attacked and flee despite being vary knowledgeable of and experience in dealing with various demons and undead. Specifically Korialstrasz mention "No... this is much older... and even more unholy an act than the lich king ever perpetrated."
Now, I know we know very little of the Dark under. However, considering all the old gods are imprisoned, with the exception of C'thun who doesn't use necromancy anyway. The undead they encountered where not servants of the lich king, and they both are familiar with the Burning legions use of necromancy. It leaves only this mysterious "dark under" or a completely unknown and unrevealed force of evil.
However, I'm not as great a master of warcraft lore as you, and was curious if you had other theories as to what those ancient undead evils came from. Or if you had any thoughts as to what the Dark under is.
dark under is a reference to some sort of hell that may or may not exist?
My apologies it is actually called "Dark Below." I always refer to it as Dark under, although it is not proper. It is believed to be either a separate plane from the twisting nether that contains its own faction of evil, or on the same plane as the Twisting Nether but a rival faction of the Burning legion.
Not much is known about it. There is a link to the wowwiki page that gives a more detailed and accurate answer then my own. However I am unable to post links as of yet.
