Here my guide to improve WoW performances

Part 1: Fps Cap / Dual&Quad Core Fix

It unlocks the second Core. It will reduce drastically loading times when logging in or changing zones. It will remove the fps cap (ofc no needed if u'r player with vsync activated).
For some computers it will not give significally improvements. For testing, my advise is to try to track loading times using a level 1 character since u will press "ENTER WORLD" button to the game interface. After that log out, TAB, open fpsboost.exe and try again to log in. You should see some improvements....
For ppl with Vsync disactivated now your fps will be right. The same effet is reached opening Windows media player in background but it will use 20mb of ur ram memory

Part 2: Reduce Your Latency

The old trick of TCPACKFREQUENCY & TCPNODELAY. Sometimes your latency will be decreased a lot. Here a software that do it automatically without entering into the registry

I can easily get 500 FPS if I play with driver settings, and turn them down to the lowest and look at a wall.

Realistically, playing at high settings, and not looking at a wall, most people won't even get over 100 on regular PC's, and that's the way it's suppose to be.

The stuff that lowers your ping works - i've been using these tweaks for over a year - but I did them manually. I wouldn't try that FPS thing, as blizzard already implemented code into previous patches to enable the second core of a CPU to work with WoW to an extent. WoW cannot utilize over 2 cores though.

500, maybe more, but this doesn't really mean anything. I mean the graphics are turned to very low, and i'm looking at a wall. What people should care about is how the game performs with a lot of people/mobs/spells and stuff happening on their screen. That's why the picture he posted of his FPS don't mean anything.


Also on second thought, now I REMEMBER where those pictures are from. I seen them along TIME ago on elitistjerks.com . The person that uploaded those pics all said that the FPS boost on those 2 pictures is misleading, he said that the latency fix (which is the reason he posted those 2 pics), had nothing to do with the improvement of his FPS.
