Interesting about the mounting through things that aren't solid, and not needing to DC anymore. Its a good thing something works well out of everything that has been fixed!

And like ParceQueFraiSe said, we need a better solution, because not all underground explorations have the luxury of models to fly around, like in Stormwind. It is going to be a real pain in the ass until we can find a way to fly under the ground without having to lag out or be near WMO's.

You mean like blinking and DCing yourself, then ending up on the other end?

    Well... f***.

Did they extend the trigger for the way you exit instances or is it because you are simply moving past the portal and it brings you out of the instance? I remember that happens when I lag myself out, when I log back in it acts as if I had passed though the portal even though I was lagging out.

Ok day 3 of testing for flying under the world! (on Beta)

And I have some good news, and also some weird (and possibly disturbing) news...

    - Managed to get from the Torjari Pit in Valley of the Four Winds and across to The Serpent's Spine (the huge wall) by flying very close to the surface, very carefully with stopping and starting, and by staying next to models. Also seems that the 'sha light' on the ground seems to offer a path as when I flew very close underneath it I didn't d/c once. It took a while, I d/ced a good 6 times or so, but eventually I made it to the wall - a very useful thing as it goes through every zone bar the Jade Forest, giving a guaranteed source of models to fly along.

However, while I was following the wall north underneath the world I came across something pretty weird. I saw a part of a Northrend Alliance wall section embedded in the wall - when I tried to stick close to it to carry on travelling along the wall it d/ced me. I then tried going under and up inside it to follow the original wall it was stuck in, but then was randomly dismounted and started falling and ofc, d/ced.

What's weird, is that when I logged in, I wasn't in a d/c loop - I found myself falling, again, and this time I went to a loading screen and was ported in front of the entrance to Gate of the Setting Sun. I was pretty close to this area when I dismounted, so it looks like this area might be protected all-round by a dismount to stop people flying up and behind the instance portal (as I just love to do). As for why it ported me to this point when I was falling underneath I have no idea. It might be that instead of getting stuck in a d/c loop when we fall under the world now we'll just be ported - but I'm not really up for testing this after what's happened the other times I've been falling...

So yeah, if you are flying under the world by sticking to models in Pandaria, be on your guard...

Indeed. Need to get their priorities sorted out. All this effort and hard work gone into fixing our ways of exploring, for what...to stop a proportionately tiny part of the player-base seeing some hidden things within the game? I mean, really.

Just finished reading each and every post after a little break from our forum. I'm saddened by these recent changes but I wanted to extend my gratitude to all the excellent explorers in this thread and all your ongoing contributions. You keep testing, I'll keep testing, we'll find a way.

    http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...gm-island.html (Control FP 2.0 (No-Clip Flying Mode & Client-Side GM Island))

You won't get dc'd traveling under the world this way. Though it would obviously be more of a last resort if nothing else pans out because it's a bit slow and client-side. But it does work!

To be honest, as cool a find as this is (well done for finding it incidentally, I've never been one for quest exploits personally), it would be kinda pointless for using it outside of instances to travel under the world, since it's client-side. I know you say it's a last resort, but if you just use lagged exploration, then you get the same effect for a lot less effort (no needing a quest, accepting summon, can use it anywhere easily) and it's client-side too. What we really want, of course, is some way to get it to work server side...so far the only solution is the 'model following' technique, which is still pretty limiting.

Good work on this Control F.P. 2.0 though, very cool for finding some nice, possibly otherwise inaccessible, places in instances!

Thanks Strangletusk. So you know it can be alot easier to use a control fp. The CoT Dragon requires no quest, and you can use your hearthstone to activate it. Totally still a cheaper version of flying under the world for sure, I just mean any player unfamiliar with them could run over to the Dragon and give it a whirl without any pre-req's and minimal effort.

Ok, today I've been trying to reach a certain cool spot in the Jade Forest that's under the world and have been making relatively decent progress using the follow-models method - during this I've discovered a possible other helper in flying under the world:

    - It looks like if you fly under NPCs or mobs then you won't be d/ced, though obviously use caution when moving. Was able to fly underneath a large arranged group of sitting pandaren without getting d/ced, despite the fact I was far enough away from models to be d/ced. Perhaps kiting a mob above a friend under the world while they travel could work?

    - Going to try and test if this same effect applies to players above you. If so, it would avoid the need to kite a mob and would all round be a lot easier.

Though this could help, perhaps, I have to say that it is still a complete nightmare. Still, if we persevere...

No problem! I should stress though that while this looks like the case, it might not work 100% of the time, and if you going to rely on it, then look for larger groups of mobs/NPCs - that is the most likely to work
