Yes...perhaps. I'm starting to think that Blizzard is going to force us explorers into a lot of Offline Explorations. I am really not a fan of this sort of exploration at all. It is the main reason that I have mainly avoided explorations in the past based on Control FP, SecondWorld, pulling LAN wires, etc... because my toon is not really reaching these locations. However, if this is the hand that Blizzard forces... perhaps I will have to get used to the idea of some offline journeys. Has anyone on PTR / BETA recently tested that old method of opening two WoW accounts and logging into each until one of them is still in the game but offline?

    - Moving in water underneath the world for several sustained seconds will d/c you just as if you were flying for several seconds uninterrupted. Again, stopping and starting works is the way to go to avoid this. Seems you can log in where you d/ced though and not get stuck in a loop, though, I would recommend stop-start swimming to make sure you avoid this, as it is a real pain in the arse if you DO get stuck.

    - It appears that you will *almost* (only saying almost because I've not tested it enough times to be 100% sure) always get stuck in the d/c loop if you are moving under the world without being on a flying mount or in water, eg, slow falling, goblin glider etc etc. Otherwise, you should be able to log in where you d/ced and still be on your flying mount/in water.

    - So if you're slow falling underneath the world to reach something, make sure you're going to reach your objective within a short time or you will d/c and get stuck in a d/c loop.

    - Moving in water seems to d/c you faster than if you were flying under the world. Like, a LOT faster.

    - You can move as much as you want up and down, it's only the moving forwards that will d/c you after a few seconds. Update 2: Just discovered this is actually wrong. The same d/c after a few seconds of constant moving counts for going up and down as well....
This part here has made blinking though the world and turning yourself around to get into water, then proceeding to hop on a mount nearly impossible. I tried that in the PTR and got stuck in a DC loop, having to change my race to get out of it. You actually have to blink though the wall to a solid ground like in the first video that Dellion posted in order to actually get onto a mount, which also makes this a pain the ass, because not every place you're exploring has that opportunity. Then doing the stop and start method you posted will likely add hours like you said, maybe shaving off a few minutes using the DC macro like Trokair mentioned.

Can anyone tell me if those lag tools that Dellion mentioned are like the Mac lag tool that I have been using? When I use my Mac terminal to lag out: I get to my destination, flush my IP, WoW disconnects me, and when I log in I end up back to where I supposedly "left the server" and end up in a disconnect loop. I have never used any of the other lag tools, even when I had my Windows partition.

New method of glitching through walls

I think this is good news for us. We don't need DC macro anymore (at least for this).

@Dellion! Nice Find! But you do realize that this will get patched in the prepatch that's going to hit soon or on the 25th of Septmeber? You should've kept it for yourself till 25 september!

EDIT: You must spread some reputation

Nice find Dellion, just goes to show that while some things may get fixed, some things get easier. And I don't think that'll be the last new thing we find to help us explore this expansion. + Rep when I can for you.

Anyways, on to day 2 of testing for flying under the world!

And...the news isn't good. Couldn't manage to get the stop-start with disconnecting method, that Trokair suggested, to work. Appears that while you can d/c before the game does it itself, you have to do it too quick and the game just doesn't recognise you've moved forward.

However, have a possible thing that might help, maybe:

    - Appears that while just flying underneath normal terrain will pretty much instantly dc you (once you've been dced once already), flying underneath or above buildings or caves gives you a little more time before you're disconnected, ranging from about 1-5 seconds. Basically over or under anything that has an interior. It's a very small thing, but perhaps we could use this to our advantage? Flying above or underneath caves or interior dwellings with stop-start method to reach places? The number of places that would allow you to reach them this way would be very small, but at this stage, we need all the help we can get if we want to keep underworld flying alive...

    - Also, need to revise one of my previous statements from yesterday: swimming under the world will disconnect you just as fast as flying - it's the kind of terrain you're travelling over/under that counts (basically what I said in my last point). When I tested it at first, I was just swimming in normal water under the world and it disconnected me much faster than my previous flying test, but this because when I was flying I was actually underneath a cave at the time (I went back and checked, I was unaware of this at the time).

    Update 1:
    - Seems that the flying underneath caves etc, only doesn't dc you instantly if you're moving forwards and around etc, and not up and down. Being under a cave then trying to fly down at all instantly dc's you. Getting closer to the surface on the other hand (ie. closer to the floor of the cave above you) doesn't d/c you. Looks like you can do the stop-start method in this situation.
    - Kind of weird case this - looks like you only d/c if you try going further down than you were originally under the cave, so you can go up a bit then go back down a bit to get back to where you were and this doesn't d/c you, but trying to go any lower disconnects you. Strange.

Going to test just now what happens above a cave, and later, what happens when flying very close to the surface of the world.

    Update 2:
    - Ok just finished testing what happens when flying above a cave, and...it's the exact same as what happens under a cave, only in reverse. If you try and fly any higher than a certain very short point above it, then you'll instantly d/c, just as flying below a certain point just below the cave will instant d/c you if you fly below it.

Got some rl stuff to do - so will test what happens when flying close to the surface of the world a little later.

Anyways, it would appear that this glitch, while not 100% fixed, is fixed to the point at which it's just not a viable method any more, unless you're going to be under for a very, very short time before getting where you need to. Nonetheless, I will continue to try out ways to get this to work, and will report back here.

Thanks again for your research ST.

Dellion, your find is absolutely enormous, I love it!! I think it clearly has to do with one of Blizzard's recent "fixes".... so as we say, "when they close a door, they open a window". Phenomenal! Can't wait until I can give you some rep again.

lol blizzard want to fix the mount through wall and they made this more easier ^^ Nice find

For the dc under the world i have made some test too :
the offline exploit for mac users work always ([Guide] Offline Exploit (mac) - YouTube), but if we do it under the ground, you will dc after you back online, and when you relog, your are in the place under the map where you must dc if you were online. so only interesting for check where we want to go.

If you are near models, like walls, tree etc you have less chance to get dc, so you must found a way where you are always near something. So I's easy to fly under Stormwind, but for other explorations it will be more hard

If you are Dc in water, when you relog, you will get the breath unlimited (little useless)
