It doesn't work.

It's just seems that Blizzard does create a copy of your avatar when you pay for their services, but it never stays when it's finished. I also had this so called "bug", but it just works as intended I guess.

Today I've lost the old copies of the characters, so the people saying that they would not be permanent were correct, but I still had access to the double amount of gold and items for about a day.

And to address the people that are saying that I just got lucky, that it was random. I sort of agree with you, no doubt I had some luck while doing this, but there is the fact that it happened not once, but twice, so it can't have been just random luck.

he could have showed the huge rep people anything but what actually happened no one could actually really confirm unless he added you to real id and logged in both toons and screen sharing that his transfer was complete on the website.... which was confirmed HE DID NOT DO

OP did it, it worked for him, and it might have worked for other people. The fact that it couldn't be recreated by everyone doesn't make OP a liar. It was also confirmed that he, in fact, had two copies of the same character.

So could you people please either shut the **** up or contibute to this discussion. I'm personally starting to lose my faith in humanity really fast thanks to the comments in this thread.

I do agree with you though, that most of the frustration in this thread comes from people not being able to reproduce his results.

It was never confirmed by anyone please shut the **** up I could make it seem like I copied two of my characters easy without producing REAL evidence like the transfer completed screen etc

all he did was show in game omg so hard to do I know

the ONLY person to confirm he got it working was Felheart, how do we know felheart isnt stupid and doesnt look for obvious signs of paintshop or ask for real evidence?

As much as we would all love for this to work. It does not.

This is not a new concept to anyone thats been around here for awhile. We have attempted to exploit this many times and have yet to be able to find any reason to believe that it would produce any sort of results.

The moment you click PAY and the PAY gets accepted your character gets locked and sent in que for deletion.

This is why sometimes your character is unavailable for play, or sometimes if the que system gets backed up you don't have a character anymore. You have to remember that every character has a unique characterID which is associated to your unique accountID. Cloning cannot happen as my character with the value" [1] (example) cannot exist anywhere on the network where another character with the id of [1] is. (US/EU). This is fundamentally why we cannot transfer from US to EU or other countries.

When you start your xfer from lets say Shadowmoon to Illidan, Shadowmoon creates a special report and sends it to the Illidan server. Server checks happen such as, is he horde, is he alliance, whats his rep, whats his faction standing, what mounts need to change, did he get a server first, is it a guild, is his name taken, can we move his macros, can we move his equipment codes, have these items been discovered yet so we dont crash server on detail inquiry, quest lists... etc. When its done, the losing server sends over the information to the new server, after a comparison check between the two characters, voila. The old one goes into a deletion que. Sometimes its still visible, but you will not be able to log into it.
