Confirmed, worked fine, only no need for the macro, my method. i just stood on the trough, had the person put the trough on fire halfway through my tame, and then the second i was done taming, i hit revive pet. and then had my pig, then i had to log out and back in so i would have him on my whistle. +rep

Worked fine for me, 2nd shot. (I didn't have a friend do it, i alt-tabbed to a trial acct while the tame was going, waited 2 seconds, then hit the torch.)

Just got it. Took a long time of trying it both ways and in the end the "get it to die as you finish taming and press revive" method was the one that worked. Any other cool pets you can tame like this btw?

would be nice if someone find a way to tame Spiteflayer (rare) in Blasted Lands with his endless buff active, +15% dmg dealt / -15% dmg taken.

How does this work?
I have a tauren and a human hunter, with the hunter i start taming and then is set the pig on fire while spamming revive, but just get normal pigs...

everytime i do this the boar just appears on fire and he doesnt have a different picture or name. is that how its supposed to look?

Please refer to that big post I have a page back that I spent time writing. I have Spiteflayer sitting in my stables with the buff.
(hint: buff does not persist on death, so it's not that great)

Depends on what boss. Certain mobs with single attacks that target random people will just lay waste to your pet.
Then, when it dies, the buff is gone and you've lost your shiny pet.

If you tame 5 of the same one and just release them one after another to fight in the same raid if one dies, then yeah, it's a great boon, but that's a time-consuming tactic.
