Same thing happens. This doesn't work.

I hate to burst you're bubble.. But this is working. US- Anub'arak. It doesn't show the scaling on the item. But it clearly shows it in the character screen. LVL 85 paladin. Damage is the same as my 346 Heroic Item. Nice find.

Its scaling at 85 is actually the same as a 333 blue. But whatever. If you want it to feel like a 346, be my guest.

Well.. I don't have any 333 left to compare it to. But it's about as close as you can get to the 3 dif 346heroics I have in my inventory. The actual damage is off by less than 5%.

Bloodied arcanite reaper @ 85, naked. Character sheet shows 597.5dps - 54.2 comes from attack power. BAR equipped in the offhand shows 373.5dps, which is what would be appropriate for a TG warrior. (62.5% of weapons dps when held in the offhand).

Here is a brief log against the lvl 85 target dummy from the front.

Character sheet shows the weapon damage range to be 1692-2436

    Average DPS: 385.2
    1. Hit 60 (75%) (Min: 0 Avg: 1547 Max: 1877)
    2. Glancing 6 (8%) (Min: 0 Avg: 1403 Max: 1589)

If anything all we are seeing is that the base weapon damage is still scaling, but not the stats on the weapon. However it is hitting for less that the character sheet says it should.

By comparison, equipping a Stormedge (ilvl219 axe) shows 299.2 on the character sheet.

@ the skeptics what can i do to prove this to you?

BTW this is STILL working at arthas-us, not giving as much AP as my blade of the fearless, but it is doing just a little less topend in gear

EDIT: Took off all my gear, subtracted DPS from attack power from the DPS on my character screen, this came out to 489 weapon DPS with the Truesilver champion. Items with that kind of DPS vvvvvvvv

Of cousre it's going to hit less. Look up something called "armor".

    i levelt my Hunter 1 - 85.
I had the Charmed Ancient Bone Bow on me, which sould work till lvl 80 and after lvl 80 it sould not scale anymore. So on lvl 80 the Bow has like 167 dps. I found a green Gun lvl 83 with 310 dps or so. But i made over 500 Damage more with the bow eq than with the Gun !

So ... its bugged and the 1-80 Hirelooms scale over lvl 80

I had noticed this on my warrior with one of his heirloom pieces but don't remember which item specifically. I didn't realize they weren't supposed to be scaling past 80 so I didn't really think anything else of it. Just made a comment to a guildie that they were equivalent to 333 items.
