I was farming the sharks for leather and I got a Tiny Crimson Whelping off one of the sharks... I'm curious what happened there haha. I think a whelp got ate by a shark?

Not the point tardy, the point is, the more places this shows up, the more likely it gets patched because if more people do it and are aware of it then it becomes higher priority, right now if it sticks to mmowned that's a lot better than it ending up on a front page article on ****ing MMO-Champ.... anyone who actually contributs something worthwhile on occasion knows how fast shit gets patched once it goes public.
I don't understand why stupid "do-gooders" think they will get hired by blizz or a pat on the head or something if they report things like this, fact is, you get nothing other than screwing yourself out of thousands of gold by reporting it and making Blizz aware.
It's already been posted on the bug forums by some white knighting idiot, it's only a matter of time people, so get on this now.

So after spending like.. 3 hours farming them, I decided to make a guide for efficiently farming the Harbor Shredfins in Menethil. (Note: Alliance only because of the Arrows.)
For this way to farm them, you will need:
1) A class that has a good AoE
2) Enohar's Explosive Arrows (Will get to this in a sec.)
3) a lot of Elixir of Water Breathing
4) a lot of Swim Speed Potion
5) 110+ Skinning skill
6) Skinning Knife
How to get Enohar's Explosive Arrows:
There is only a short prequest to get them and you don't even have to kill anything.
This NPC Enohar Thunderbrew - NPC - World of Warcraft in Nethergarde Keep, Blasted Lands gives both quests. Do her first quest, which has you run to the shore and back. Then pick up "Curtail the Darktail" then you're set.
What the arrows do is basically ignore LoS and pull mobs 150 yards away.
However, it doesn't:
-Do damage
-Tag the mobs
Keep the quest in your log or you lose the arrows!
Farming the sharks:
Get to Menethil and go to the bridge that leads to the Wetlands outside. Drink a Water Breathing potion and jump right in.
(Another note: The sharks reset quickly, so make sure to hit them with an AoE as soon as they get close to you. This may need a bit of practice.)
Stand a bit away from the sharks and start shooting. As soon as they reach you, start AoEing, skin, profit. Go clockwise around the lake and repeat. Use the Swim Speed potions as much as you want.
Suggestions:
Control the market: Buy out everybody elses new skins if they aren't too ridiculously priced.
Drop them in the bank till like 2 hours before Cataclysm is activated on the servers, then flood the AH with them at high prices. Buy out all competition leading up to the server reset and relist at your own prices. This will obviously require a bit of starting gold, but is worth it.
Focus on getting as much Savage Leather and Pristine Hides as possible leading up to release. The Deepsea Scales are only used in like 4 recipes and thus wont be worth as much as the other two.
Have fun![]()
Just a quick response to the people saying 'people have posted it on the official forums so now Blizz knows about it', you do know that Blizz read these forums right? Including the elite section. As soon as something is posted here Blizz know about it and will start fixing it if they choose to.
Yeah thanks DeathComesForU it makes a HUGE difference to use that gun, what i did is bound that gun to one button on my mouse, and throw on the other button, and could farm rapidly. Best Class for this would be a druid, they have the massive swim speed, and moonfire should be able to do about 1 k and insta kill them. The mobs themselves have a leash that's just shorter than max view distance, if you can see them on ultra distance you can pull them, but you have to kill them before they get within 10 feet.
I like to go to the 4 corners of the lake and pull them all in and throw at them when they get close. These mobs have only ~500 health and are easily dispatched by just about anything with a decent weapon/spellpower. Ive seen a large number of people killing these sharks but they are working on the quest. There is a quest to kill 10 of these, so if you see someone in the water with you, tone it down and farm them without the gun and avoid the player, (or follow behind and skin) so long as you dont mess with them they can be in and out none the wiser, but if you depopulate the lake and they see you pulling from massive distances some questions may be raised.
Using the gun im able to get roughly 100 leather an hour, along with 1 pristine, 30 -50 deepsea, 50 light and medium leather, and a handfull of greens and seems like i can get able every 2-3 hours the blues are all the like 18/19 twink items, of course nobody twinks anymore but you get the idea. Other good classes for farming this are rogues with sprint glyphs, warlocks with underwater breathing glyph (if its still around) priests shamans and Dks for thier ability to waterwalk at will. if you are doing it right you can keep waterwalking up and never loose it. Trick for dks- use DND and pull sharks onto it.
i wonder if this works with the foxes in gilneas and the crocodiles outside it, both new mobs
Mobs in Eastern Plaguelands that are skinnable ALSO drop Cata Leatherworking mats
You realised that all the mobs we found are a kind of fish?
We should look for more new fish mobs.
