Indeed a great find and it got me curious as to what other mobs would yield the same results.

I found that these mobsLandlocked Grouper - NPC - World of Warcraft will also give you savage leather when skinned.

I think any new mobs added with the new patch that can be skinned will yield the same results, but that's just a theory at the moment, the one above I actually tested and works,

Been out there for about 50min

    74 Savage Leather
    33 Deepsea Scales
    2 Pristine Hides

My Hunter is my skinner so my method is a 0 talent point spec, lvl 18 green bow, just fire serpent sting and keep swimming to next one, they one with serpent sting will follow and die by the time I get to the next one.

Interesting side note, at one point the water turned all orange/red and I thought I bugged something, came up for breath and to see what was going on at the surface and sure enough black/orange sky and there was Deathwing in the distance.

Was testing what someone said about maybe its newer mobs added with 4.03. Tested a few mobs here and there on land .. no dice. Testing more mobs in water and found the Dangerfish in SW Darkshore can also drop the leather / scales / hides. So if the other areas above are camped here is a semi-newish one! Happy farming

They are lvl 19-20ish mobs so also very low skinning required

My guildie said there was a spot South-East side right next to Menethil where the sharks would spawn faster then he could kill hem.
    Wheres this exactly?

I went and tested out this spot, i also noticed this spot has a forced spawn between the 2 sides of the bridge. So there is _always_ mobs to kill.

This spot actually works a lot faster then the Menethil Harbour spot if you have a friend skinner doing the other side of the bridge, you will Always have a mob in range'ish to kill and few others to skin. Me and guildie were having problems managing to actually skin all the mobs we managed to kill.

(ps. adding this to the original post aswell, thanks for pointers to "Townportal")

So in my opinion you should defiantly do Minithal harbor. The sharks are the best. I would also suggest using an another exploit that I learned about today.
    Grab Enohar's Explosive Arrows.
    http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...ards-away.html

I found it easiest to get in the middle of the harbor and shoot these mofo's from 100yards away and let them come to me. Its so much fun. enjoy it while you can. Thanks for the tips guys, you rock!

Menethil Harbour is better if your solo.
Eastern Plaguelands is better if your duo (with a friend skinner, both have to be skinners obviously),
i can keep chain pulling mobs almost non-stop due to forced spawn, theres more to skin then i can barely manage.

Barbed Gasgill - NPC - World of Warcraft
Ocean Shredfin - NPC - World of Warcraft
Remora Scrounger - NPC - World of Warcraft

All of these npcs drop it as well. Though I still find that the Harbor Shredfins have the best drop per time spent. :\ At least for me.

This method is great, the only problem i've seen so far is idiots on wowhead having to point this out as well (HAI GUYZ, YOU CAN GET THIS LEATHER RITE NOAW! HURR HURRR COOL HUH), so if anyone of you happen to go by there, make sure to neg rep that so general pubbies don't pick up on it, the longer this is unpatched the better.

I personally have been sticking with Menathil, DK farmer f t w.

Long time leecher here with a small heads up. Use caution when farming the skins, I had another player come out to farm and they weren't happy with how efficiently I was doing it in comparison(too slow to keep pace with my mage) and they threatened to report me for it. After about an hour or so of them leaving the area, I was contacted in game by a GM about "the business I was partaking in" and was advised not to continue. As a good measure, I have stopped. Not really up for a ban and losing out on some play time for a handful of skins I can farm once cata hits.
