711 thanks for all but i ve some questions

my 2.4.2 mangos server did work perfectly but when i updated to 2.4.3 i ve some problems now. example : my trainers has not train (weapon, mount trainer) , guards dont say to locations and nobody in outland and nobody in gmisland_? Why i ve this problem, can u help me for this topics pls.

Note : i reinstalled to 2.4.3 for 3 times.

you did a nice job on the newb pack but having a bit of a problem going public. i have the static ip and the ports forwarded but i cant fight out were to change the ip from internal to external

i have my server up and have people off my network connected. But i cannot connect through my external ip and every time i connect though local host i get to the point were i can choose the realm and if i click it then it tries to load but brings me right back to the realm loading page

Alright, here's my issue...

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit w/ Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 installed. Whenever I run "ad.exe" the program crashes (every time) at exactly 41%. I've tried running it as an administrator, in compatibility mode, and I also installed "MSVCR71.dll" as instructed. I'm positive that I've followed all of your instructions correctly as I've set up a private server before. Is there any way to fix this or what?

Ok, so got it figured out now, i can connect on my comp useing my DNS, but i give out the host name to my friends and they change there realmlist.wtf file, and are not able to connect, it goes to the connecting screen, then says unable to connect, have all the ports opend, i can post a screenshot of that so you can mebe see if i have that correctly done

as soon as I start ad.exe an error message showed up and says
unknown software exception (0x40000015) something like this
can anyone help me with it !?

Alright I got a problem, please help if you can:

Mines fairly simple, I was following the instructions given... a couple times when I loaded mysql and then restarter right after, a whole bunch of error messages popped up multiple times in a row. I close out of both and rerun the restarter, errors gone. Hmm...

Then, when the command prompt with mangos server on it loads, it says:

World Database: 127.0.0.1;3306;root;root;mangos
Could not connect to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1: Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' <10061>

Cannot connect to world database 127.0.0.1;3306;root;root;mangos

I'm guessing that I need to change something with the roots like a user name and password of such, but what would I change it to?

I've only done exactly what is written to do, not changed anything else.
Just copied stuff from wow folder with the ad.exe thingie, moved it back, and ran the 2 other .exe .

Ok, got it all figured out, my server is up and running and my friends are on it playing. i just want to say THANK YOU!!!!!! 711 for this guide, i ran into some small problems, but got them figuerd out( like had to make it use a diferent reamld port to allow my friends to connect)
Just 1 final question if ya dont mind.
DO you know where i can find a list of some sorts of Creatue ID's ..so i can like spawn Nefarian and Ragnaros in Tirisfal glades to spook my friends out
Tried looking online for a list but i tend to fail at serching for those kind of things

how do you change the stats in the server as in xp,gold and stuff ?
also i dont get the part when changing realmlist or realm name

r3ku- to change the xp per kill, quest turn in, and the like,
open your Mangosd.conf file, and scroll down to almost the bottom
Change the Rate.XP.Kill from 1(normal xp) to what ever you want, i have mine set to 2(double the xp for killing a mob)
If you scroll up, it will give details on what all those do,
use the mangos.conf file to change all you server stuff

Yes open it with notepad, make the changes you want, then save and close
you will need to restart your server after you make the changes(if you have the server running at the time you make the changes)
and as a side note you open all the .conf files with notepad
