That would have to be that either your firewall is catching them or your ports aren't properly connect. I'm not gonna type up a guide right here because that would take long and i am trying to help everyone so just find a guide on these forums where people explain making their server public without hamachi and it will explain what you need to do exactly so people can connect and play.

I figured it out. I had to get the mysql editor and open up the dbase like the guide said. Just took me a minute to figure that out. I worked it out and got it up and running and it is awesome! Thanks for the easy to install server!

ALL QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE, PLEASE READ THIS POST.

Wowessence. Please download the repack before trying to offer assistance on it? A lot of your answers don't apply to this repack. You do NOT need to download SQLyog or execute any SQL batch scripts to start up the server as the database is precompiled and a mysql installation is included in the pack, you do NOT need to extract the dbc as this is done for the user already, and you do NOT need to create a maps directory as an empty one is included.

Salyon, you had a problem with extracting the maps. Make sure that you put ad.exe and the map folder in the WOW install directory (the same directory with wow.exe) and run ad.exe until it is completed. Once you have all 3000+ .map files in the maps folder, move /maps/ back to the MANGOS folder you originally found it in.

DMXDRE, you probably have a firewall interfering with your connection. Please see the related FAQ question about bypassing your router's firewall to allow access to the server.

ravaged, I don't fully understand what problems you're having. Are you unable to use this skills? To learn them? Are you the appropriate class for the skill you're trying to learn/use? Are you trying to learn the skills from weapons trainers or class trainers or perhaps with the .learn ability?

Berner, no, you only need SQLyog if you want to edit the database, perhaps to change the realm name, make the server public, or add custom items. To run and play on the server, you only need a copy of WoW with TBC and the contents of the repack. As for your other questions, you don't need to use the restarter, you can simply run each file individually, first run mysql.bat, then realmd.exe, then mangosd.exe. if you DO wish to use the restarter, however, please the see the related Troubleshooting question about MSVCR71.dll.

Mitz, Please see the FAQ question about making the server public and make sure a firewall/router isn't interfering with your connections.

Swog, if the TBC races are greyed out, it probably means you created you own account and forgot to do "setbc username 1". try logging in with username "3" and password "3" and let me know if you still have problems.

jeter2, please download the repack again and extract it to a clean directory, and try following the guide again.

Hello, First off i would like to thank you for releasing this, having a blast playing a gm on my own server
But, for some reason i can only play by my self, i have tried to make my server public so my friends can play with me,
I made host name thing at dyndns , changed the realm list to the hostname i made inside of the Realmd.conf file , and used navicat to change it in there.
added it to the c:/windows/drivers/ect/hosts
And changed the realmlist.wtf in my wow folder
I start up mysql, get no errors on that,
start up restarter no errors in that loads everything just fine..
save for the realmd app, here is what it says



and i try to log into wow, and get stuck at conecting...friends cant log on,
i have foworded all the ports on my firewall and router

i can also change everything back to 127.0.0.1 and it will then let just me log on

Anyone know how to fix this or what im doing wrong / overlooking

Here is a sreen shot of my problem... everything load ok exept the MySql, where it say that it cant connect to the server...
This only happens when i try to make it possible for my freinds and brother to connect to the server. I have ven shut sown my firewall. I use the ports in your guide, but it wont let me go outside it for some reason. Does anyone know a port that are allways open??

Lorina, first of all, I want to thank you for posting a new question, one that hasn't been asked before. To change rates, open mangosd.conf. Near the bottom is a bunch of lines with rate info, like "Rate.XP.Kill = 1", just change those, save, and restart the server. I'm not sure you can create new GM ranks, but you can EDIT the gm ranks and commands by opening the "commands" table in the "mangosd" database and editing it to your liking. (if using SQLyog, remember to save the settings) As for no bugs, I'm afraid there are a few, for example, NPC minions attack players, I deleted all the imp minions (like the one in northshire, it ravages anyone who goes near the abbey), but forget the voidwalkers, and whatever else there might be.

Kruben, do ".lookup swords" and then ".learn ###", the skill will be at the very top and called "one handed swords" or "two handed swords" depending.

Pengu, I'm not certain, but you might be running restarter before mysql is ready for for connections. Wait a few seconds (15 or so) after running mysql to run restarter.

Also, I tried to teleport to things like Programmer Isle and Designer Island, but they didn't work. Is it possible to get there? I did this:

Yh deginer and programmer were removed or cant be easily extracted from the MPQ ... thats why sometimes a thread will have the files to add to your maps folder.. i think there is a one for 2.3.3 / 2.4.2
