    Mangos or Arcemu.

I have been with Arcemu/Ascent/WoWemu since iv been in emulation. But with this 3.1.0 problem I am thinking about switching. I was just wondering if Mangos would be able to run a 19 twink realm as good as arc or better. If so, is there a way I can convert my DB Arcemu > Mangos?

    Mangos or Arcemu.

I don't see a problem in that, more skills work in mangos so it could be better.
Theres some old sql converters around the net but i doupt that you can get everything converted, if you don't plan to make the converters yourself.

So what about Hearthstone, do they use the same DB as Arcemu?

If you don't motivate why it sucks no one will take you serious. I guess it's because you want lua support or it's too hard for you to setup. What annoys me most is people who can't like one thing without hating the other, for no reason. That's very uncool and childish.

    PS. Arcemu sucks!!!!
(you see how stupid that looks?)

In the past Mangos has been rather good with their updated compilations. I haven't had the chance to update to the 3.1 patch, but as usual I feel as though I will allow most of the bugs to be ironed out before I do so, or I may dive right into it and fix some of the problems myself. I personally have not tested Arcemu, so I cannot say anything about that particular emulator, but I will personally stick with Mangos for the time being.

Arc is better for personalizing the server; example adding items, quests, custom events. Mangos is better with pure blizzlike features.

So really it's not about which is better, it's which one will give you the environment
that you are seeking.. As for me I <3 Mangos and stand behind it 100%

Hello EmuX, to sum this up for you Hearthstone = eats up memory and has leaks. Arcemu = isn't 3.1 trying at all. And Mangos = Better option atm so its up to you really but you can eat up 4GB's of RAM running HS with a bunch of people in about 2-3Hr's if that .

I don't think anyone here is not biased. :/

    Here is my opinion:

    ArcEmu - Custom
    Aspire - Funserver
    Mangos - Blizzlike

Simple answer! Many may disagree with me, and anyway, at the end of the day it's personal opinion only.

Yup, up to personal opinion, my list is kind of the same as with stoneharry.
Only problem is the people who just say "x sucks ass z rocks!!!" with nothing to back it up, these are the ignorant fanboys who know nothing more of any emulator expect the link to the repack they downloaded.

These "opinions" are based on the type of community that is using the emulators, rather than what the emulator is capable of.

I will argue that MaNGOS is capable of being customized, it's just not that easy for the community to do so because well...nobody wants to learn C++ to make some scripts.

As to the idea of a funserver, that can go to either emulator, all you have to do is edit some settings...

As I said, your opinions are based on the type of community that is using the emulator, rather than what the emulator is capable of.

For 3.1, I argue you use MaNGOS, because they'll work to make sure that if and when the emulator gets up to a new patch, the transition is smooth and the new version is stable.

The reason my views are that way is because I found it easier to make custom quests on ArcEmu than Aspire because Aspire did not support required quests etc via sql. Just little things like that, not because of the community that uses them Mangos is hard to custmoise because as you said, everything needs to be done C++ and you all the commands are quite... weird... .namego to summon?!
    Getting off topic now anyway
