Some people can connect, some people can't...

Well yesterday I go on to see my logon is off on the website. So I go on my dedicated and it is up and looks fine... So I restart the logon server and now all of a sudden....

My website didn't work after this. I had to get my host to fix it. (It wasn't listening to port 80 anymore)
SO NOW MY WEBSITE WORKS.

MY LOGON SERVER ONLY WORKS FOR SOME PEOPLE NOW.
Tons of people can't connect and it will just sit on "connecting"
but tons of other people can connect and it is just fine for them.

I have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden but if anyone can help I will +Rep

Is your port full and or open. And do you have a firewallz?

No firewall, and the ports should be open since there is no firewall and everyone could connect perfectly before..

We are a server with over a hundred on average and this came out of nowhere..

I put 3 as the log view for the logon server and it seems the same people are logging in over and over and over..

This could be an attack?
How could I retaliate?

Might be a fast veiw attack you can veiw a web page like 100 mill times and log in simotaniusly. But i dought it.

Well... this happened out of nowhere and now over half my community can't get on because it just sits on "connecting"

Well not many people have the power of doing what i said its a hard tool to find let alone for free to do the log in part. Give me a link ill see if i can connect to it.

Try banning their users. Then their IP and so on and so fourth then local area ban them if it continues.

Well it only seems this guy is logging in like 3-5 times every minute but so are a couple other people... and check this out..

Lol well I thought you were talking about a website this is different. Does his account exist lol and why is your sql with your website in your logon DB?

It does exist and I changed the name/pass of it to see what happened. But nothing happened.

and my website dosn't have anything to do with my logon right now. it just stopped working at the same time.

For me and tons of my community it just sits on connecting.
Some of my community can get in... The realmlist is right.. The configs are right... I dont know whats going on..

the ports arent open if you dont have a firewall try putitng in your search engine 192.168.1.1 and go to port forwarding section and forward ports
make sure its Both TCP and UDP
