This ban wave has nothing to do with the influx of arena win trading bans. They're totally, totally separate.
A. You cannot reach Account Administration by phone. Your friend must've called Billing and the Billing rep was nice enough to explain the situation.
B. Believe it or not, you're right on the money with AA reps being locked in the basement. They are only allowed to send totally pre-set replies, and there aren't many of them. They are in the same building as the GMs and Billing/Tech Support people, though.
C. Of course you can talk to AA. True, only by email, but if there was absolutely no ban appeal process, people would be up in arms.
D. I'm not sure what you mean by "how did this work out". If you're referring to the unbanning method, then it's been around waaaayyy before this post.

I used Pirox Afk bot for 30 minutes ( mode 2 - only AFK , not running in BGs) last night. Am i gonna get banned?

I sent off an email just now.. thanks for the help-- I wasnt banned for botting I was banned for spamming so well see how it works for that!

lol i had 2 accounts with 1 of them i was gliding xD and now are both banned cause from the same ip :P but the one who wasn't gliing has lost 5 level 70 tier 5![]()

I slowly think i survived the banwave now. All my 3 accounts are still open, not even timedban. I botted only on one of them for 1 hour last week. Lucky, i think...

I just wasn't aware that a regular billing rep could unban an account; thought only the AAs could. Although I suppose his email might have just gotten the perma-ban message so they could investigate and then gave him a 3-hour. I know when I reported my account getting hacked they sent the perma-ban email and then unbanned me a few days later w/ items returned. They really need to make a "Your account is locked for your own protection while we investigate" emails instead of scaring the booboo out of a person.
