Computer Troubleshooting Help

Last night there was a big thunder near our house and I didn't even had the time to react and unplug the computer. Before I knew it, the computer turned off with a small light coming from the computer, then I heard the thunder.

Now when I try to start the computer it restarts immiedately after the boot screen (you know the screen that displays all the shortcuts like F6, F10 and whatnot)

Obviously something is wrong hardware wise, how would I troubleshoot this?

I can't even start the computer, safe mode doesn't work either. I don't want to replace the whole computer but I have no idea how to troubleshoot it. I don't want to pay extra stupid money just to get a troubleshoot when you can do it yourself.

So please, any help is appreciated.

Unplug your hard drive and see if it does the same

unplug power than unplug hard drive,take out all memory cards and the lithium battery.let sit for 10 mins and put it back together should work.oh and take the processor out to,god how could i forget that?hope it works for ya.
