Full potato mod=best mod.You can leave only Desecrated ground and Caustic cloud around, rest are not needed. The only thing they do is eat resources.
The game will be slightly smoother if you remove the shards from shattered mobs.Like Deadbodies are removed now but the floors are flooding with ice shards and i would say if its not the same its worse than having bodies. Also is it possible to remove frost wall graphics?

Holy cow! Firestorm without smoke effect looks SOOOOO MUCH BETTER! And it also eats much much less fps.
Here's smokeless firestorm, if anyone is interested. Now packed into private effects folder. RestoreDefaults included.
Dropbox
Usage:
- Extract
- Drop contents into private effects folder, replace all.
- Start PoESmoother, check private effects -> skills.
- Enjoy.
P.s. I don't understand why GGG puts such ugly effects on those skills. Seriously.

I found a Holy Grail of Smoothness - empty .epk files. I just empty all my .epk files from Metadata folder and.. game is now running unbelievable good!
Even after removing all particles & effects, game still freezes in heavy mob packs (Beyonds, electrical breach, etc) & strongboxes (in 99% cases) - sometimes up to 1800ms(!!!) frame time.
Without epk - it does not freeze at all. I mean ZERO freezes now.. wow. Breaches, rogues, strongboxes.. This game, on my system, never runs so good.. it feels like removing content of all epk files are far much profitable, than completely removal of all effects & particles (only affects average fps & stability).
vmv, you really need to add such option to your tool.
PS: This is my expression after a few hours of gameplay. Smooth as never before..
UPD: My epk's: Dropbox - epk.rar

This can be done with: "on_construction_complete = "RemoveEffects( );"...because only monsters have epk effects, no need to modify 1273692318 files.
But this will remove all effects from monsters..everything, like remove dead bodies does.

I have managed to completely annihilate fog, rain, and other environment effects...like they don't even exists.
We don't remove fog right now, so i think, it's just there but not visible to client, and it's still rendered.
Cpu/Gpu usage and temperatures as well are much lower with this, because the client won't render them.
With the new settings, fog, rain and shadows in the future, will never exits to client processing as functions.
Also, every map layout or town or anything..can be changed to something else.
If you'r tired of Dried Lake layout, this can be changed to look like Ledge or anything else.
This apply to any endgame map also...or Hideout.
This won't be make public unfortunately..not that i don't want it, but i think is too much modifications for a simple "smoother".

Nice job, ty,
I may change and tweak some skills a bit in a future, but I don't think I that big of a contributor anyways. PoE is a game for me, and it seems it's getting more like developing it and shaving off those rough edges developers leftover. Which takes time in the end.
You can always use those skills you like as a part of PoESmoother. If you don't want to add another toggle, you can always dump those files under other skills section.
(Just don't forget to update tooltip).
Another option is just to post links to user-made archives in first post. People will decide on their own what they need, or don't need. I won't move those files anytime soon, so yeah.
Too bad there's no way to obtain instruments used by devs. That would've made the whole modding process much easier. Don't think that would ever happen tho (due to whole mtx agenda).
