I really appreciate the work. Reduced textures work great, load times are really nice, didn't notice much of fps increase,visual hit is a bit too big imo, could really use just halved textures if you wouldn't mind. Anyway thanks! Also did you check that crash report by any chance? Post #1481.

Also how do I disable shadows myself? I guess I need to modify Shadows.ffx but what exactly do I need to change?

I can't right now, still in act 3, didnt play that much. If you encounter any crashes with my prev. files - just look at files from error message, grab them from your backup and replace with smoother by the hands, this is the universal method to fix most of the crashes with smoother.

Use 3.0 version. It works.

Better not to, game cannot handle such changes properly, you will end up with invisible and black textures all over the places.
(not sure about 3.1, but in 3.0 it works very bad)

Yeah, that's what happens when I use 3.0 shadow file on 3.1. It worked properly for me in 3.0.

In case if you have a problems with invisible & glitchy abyssal cracks, this is a fix:
AbyssRenderFix.rar - Google Drive

Note - as a side effect cracks will become less visible and completely black inside.

I need to remove the shadows, and other effects that lower FPS
