Been scammed twice on paypal! Need help!
Hey Ive been scammed twice on paypal now. I sell gold. The person puts the money in my paypal as a gift. I give them gold. And then the next day they either do an unauthorized transaction or somehow paypal holds the payment. Its been twice now and ive lost 160 bucks. The disputs are still going on so if someone could please help me out I would pay, A LOT. I can give more details about whats going on, and what i said and stuff, let me know. I have logs and everything .

they are using stolen paypal accounts to pay you - or claiming they are stolen. Find a reputable seller to sell to, and make sure to publicize including screenshots, the thieves. Damaging someone's rep is about the best you can do.

If the account isn't stolen, how do people consistently claim unauthorized payment without paypal finding it fishy? I can understand maybe once or twice, but why does this unauthorized payment thing seem to be so prominent when scamming virtual goods. Or are people seriously having their paypal accounts compromised to such a degree?

Create stealth account on PP ( fake name, address.... ) by using VCC. Select a country that allows money transfer to VCC and once u receive your money just wipe that account clean. Some VCC sellers take 20-30% and send money via WU. That way you wont limit your main account if u have one and/or u can scam the scammer by withdrawing all the money 1-2 hours after you received it. For a transaction to be completed it takes 24hours +/- 15min ( usually ). Also try to arrange so you give them 50% of the gold today and 50% tomorrow

right, they are using stolen paypal accounts to pay you - or claiming they are stolen.
if they are using stolen paypal accounts that you didnt aware and confirm holder's identity before, then you have no way on this case.
if they are the rightfull holder but claiming to be they are stolen paypal system can detect it,if they lied they will fail 100%.

If it is unauthorized access ,I think you would lose the money most probably ,since game currencies are not protected in the first place
I hope the scammer would be the account holder and meant to do it ,or a credit card user who has had fraud records before ,you got chance to win .
I do not think screenshots would help any ,seriously .
I have came across things like this before .one guy paid 3 times to me ,then started dispute .weird way paypal did to this case ,I got back money for 1 order ,but lost money for other 2 .
lol ,i still can not quite figure out why !

Well I dunno how it all works, but I sold 500k and got scammed about a year ago. Uploaded every screenshot of the conversation to the evidence thing on PP and I was still out $250.

if they are taking that large of a cut, what is the point? why not just sell to one of the gold buyers on these forums that are usually paying 30-50% less than going price, for a guaranteed sale and quick payment?

I asked a buyer to open a dispute then close it so he couldn't scam me, but he said you have to wait 2 weeks to close it. Is that true?

To avoid some times to be payed from stolen PayPal's also send a mail verification to the buyer PP mail address. Some times they hack the PP but not the mail of that PP too, so there are good chances you will know from the start if the buyer send from a stolen account or not

Same thing you should do with MoneyBookers payments ect ect ect , send a mail verification to see if the buyer also owns the mail too...
