A simple "HE doesn't want to" would safice as a reason thats understandable.
@Milkshakes00, everyone already has a source code of this program. Not the last one, but good for 1.3
I don't want open source: what happens when another person adds autoflask or other methods specific for bots and then starts selling it?
The fact that you think that GGG "changes the addresses every so often" just goes to show exactly how much you understand about this. Those offsets change every time GGG makes changes to functions before the offsets that are being read. How much they move all depends on how the compiler decided to compile things. So GGG doesn't do anything to "move" the offsets. They are simply just changing the program. Then there is also figuring out all the new content and such. I never said it was the ultimate way to stop it, but having the updated source code only makes it easier.
I don't care if you believe my reasoning or not, it's not going to change anything. There is an open source copy and no one can be bothered to continue or update it. So why do you think that if the updated source were released it would be any different?
If you can't update the old one to work, then you aren't going to be able to keep the new one working either. When I find someone to take over the project I will let you know.
So i went back to the last version i have of POEHud. Ran it through the website and it came back with zero threats... Here is the link.
https://www.virustotal.com/en-gb/fil...is/1420060916/
Just saying... and I suspect the old version i have was also packed with ConfuserEX.
Yes i understand i don't have to use it long story but i would rather err on the side of caution until there is more reliable information on this new version that has made its way around. So despite all your ranting about how stupid everyone is for not understanding, I don't think it is stupid to be careful around what we run on our computers. Sure some people may be behaving entitled, but for the most part the questions from the community seems valid.
The reason it is showing up more now is Coyl switched to ConfuserEx 0.4.0 instead of 0.3.X. So you see I'm not the one ranting about not understanding. I simply stated the obvious truth about hack sites, that virus scans are useless. If you bothered to read the results of the virus scan you would have seen that it all is generic and heuristic results. Which means that the virus scanner hasn't a clue what it is and is going to tell you its dangerous just be safe. DUH, you yourself said it is packed, so why would you think that a virus scanner can read it? The only reason its not reporting more with ConfuserEx 0.3.0 is because all those virus scanner packages got tired of people like you asking why this is being reported and have intentionally excluded it. Give it a few months and ConfuserEx 0.4.0 will be the same. Guess what?!? That means you are just as vulnerable and still haven't a clue what is running on your machine. Why? Well because you seem to think that a clean virus scan output is somehow proof that it is safe to use.
Do you think that a virus scanner triggers on every application that ever touches the keybuffer or clipboard? A virus scanner has no contextual clue as to what it looks like to steal your Path of Exile password, so why would you think that it could detect a "virus" or "malware" in something like this? Unless Coyl was stupid enough to put an already detected, unmodified version of a keylogger that was used for something completely different, would you be protected from this with a virus scanner. Should you be careful about what you download and run? Sure, but if you want to be safe don't download anything from sites like this. You will never be able to tell if anything downloaded from a site like OC is safe unless there hasn't already been someone who runs it and figures out that they are doing something bad by detecting outbound connections and such.
This has nothing to do with the versions posted being safe or not. This has everything to do with people freaking out because there is no reliable source for this hack anymore. There was some question about the most recent versions, but that has been put to rest. As for future versions that is still very much in question.

Jaerin, the AVs got an update, so the old exes packed with 0.3.0 got a dozen of detections from different vendors, as seen on links I kept at poehud.com
so is there no way to get a current working version of this?
It's available on poehud.com. Coyl fixed the site.
wheres donation link ??
Donation links are not allowed if you would like to donate please PM me.
While using ConfuserEx is an arguable decision, I think someone shouldn't use this if they suspect, and care, that there may be viruses.
Everyone one here complaining about it either has something personal against Coyl or is torn between using PoEHud and getting a virus. I think this thread should be moderated more strictly.
