I was told that forum's admins disallow donation links here (they want donations for themselves, that's easy to understand)

You can't send a PM? You can't donate money to someone for doing something nice without them specifically asking for it?
I donated long before Coyl even thought of making this the project it was. Hell Coyl was very suspicious and leary when I asked him for his paypal because I wanted to give him money. Not because I wanted anything, but because I appreciated that he had the desire to improve this tool that I liked.
Not allowed to spend money on the internet? Next time you are at walmart, walgreens, any other convenience store buy a $5 visa gift card. There ya go, you can spend money on the internet too! People have a 1001 excuses why they haven't given, but the reality of it is that people are lazy and leechers. Now I know the few people that have given in other ways and feel all bent out of shape because OBVIOUSLY I'm calling them out for not giving money. Re-read what I said because I never said that. Sell some of your currency in the game and tell the person to send the money to the donation address. It's not hard, people are just lazy and leechers.
I have absolutely no reason to be ranting about this, I get nothing in return. Hell I'm technically breaking OC rules by "asking for donations" and "telling people to rep someone else"
Which I might add Coyl has gotten exactly 1 rep point since I mentioned it. So tell me if all these people are giving then why is nothing happening? You want your shit for free then you need to give without being asked. The same problem exists for F2P games. There is this mentality that getting as much as you possibly can for free is somehow a victory...IMO all you are good at doing is consuming vast amounts of resources without giving ANYTHING back. You might say then why is it free? Because free is accessible to everyone, but that doesn't mean that it costs nothing to provide it. It means that they leave the decision to SUPPORT the game in your hands, YOU decide when the support happens. The alternative method is a subscription and all those people who said they can't give or think that supporting things is somehow lesser, lose their privilege. So here we are, there was no support given and therefore no incentive to leave all his work out in the open like that.
You have have no one to blame but yourselves for thinking that you deserve everything for free and that this project should somehow be honored that you are using it. The fact is this application will be equally beneficial whether 5 people use it or 1000. In fact many would argue that only 5 people using it would make it even better.
WoW, no more source..
Coyl, why don't you make your own version from begining and then secure it.
You took the great job done by Evozer, crack it up , and made your own ?!?!
You just expanded what he did, you and some of us just upgraded his work...what you do is just pure steal his work for some donations.
That guy never obfuscated the source, but you ...ffs...you just scream for money !
Fuking Shame.
Hi, is it possible to set different allert sounds to different item drops on a map , and how could I do it' Sorry if I somewhere missed topic about this.
Thanx in advance.
looks like you suppose me to mantain the source and you distribute custom builds with fonts and colors changed... as you did here a couple of weeks ago.
It is good to be a leecher with huge demands.
You do have source of Evozer's project in your fork - the initial commit - what you accuse me of stealing. Then build it and compare to what we have how. So has anyone charged you for the difference yet?
The what I state now: future updates won't contain sources. pay for them if you need the source codes of my further work - with real world currencies or contributions of comparable value (not the pitiful colors of drops every schoolboy could make)

Funny because Evozer didn't have the source available. We reached out to him to ask if he would provide it and he said it was fine that we continued working on it and that our source was about the same as his. So nothing is stopping you from even taking that last commit the Coyl made and making your own version.
Also I don't see anyone screaming for money. I mentioned that it was pretty sad that almost NO ONE has donated. This is from ME, not Coyl, ME. So if you have a problem with me calling out shit about people not contributing, feel free to contact me directly via PM about it and we can discuss it.
You are entitled to nothing, you are entitled to less than you already have received. If it weren't for Coyl this project would be all but dead because no one else is updating it. People have contributed some code snippets as example features, but as far as I could tell very little actually was used in the code itself. So I've donated $100 of my own money and I'm not upset that I don't have access to the source anymore. I asked for it, but it is entirely up to Coyl if he wants to give out access.
I applaud Coyl for all the hard work he has done, and so should you.
If not having the source code is an issue you can always just decompile/refractor the exe.
You expect me to know that only Coyl should receive compensation? There are more than just him listed as contributors on top of this being adopted from someone else. These rants aren't necessary, you could have just asked or told us. I did the sounds and arrows to try and help out because I hate leeching and leechers. I will send something today.
I don't like that we came to that compensation topic... because everyone will start counting the fraction of their contribution. And we will surely have different estimates on features that got refactored (item rolls, health bars), features that are linked as mods in the first topic but not included into zip (sounds, arrows)... and then come to claims of shares of those scarse donations that were received.
Thank you, Jaerin for support... your $100 constitute more than a half of all donations recieved by now.
I am going to save all dontator's names just in case there'll appear some kind of improved version of hud to offer them at a later moment.
The attempts to ashame me for not disclosing future versions' sources sound most stupid. There's nothing to be ashamed of in controlling the products of my work and deciding when and how to share those.
By the way, let me announce that the next version will feature more settings for item alerts: color, sound, and custom map icon. - There's going to be a binary build (with obfucsation).
Well I sent you a chunk of money, as I said before if it were more noticeable or whatever you would have had it awhile ago. I was under the impression this was a group effort being led by you, not a solo project. I could give a shit less about the source tbh, as long as I can still customize things outside of the program itself (sounds, arrows etc.)
Read better next time.........
" Now I know the few people that have given in other ways and feel all bent out of shape because OBVIOUSLY I'm calling them out for not giving money. "
If you can't understand the obvious sarcasm in that statement then there isn't much I can do to help you.
"You can't send a PM? You can't donate money to someone for doing something nice without them specifically asking for it?"
You quoted me then immediately said this. I wasn't arguing that you were being sarcastic about not giving money, I was saying it wasn't clear to me that this was Coyl's own project. I saw that he had taken apart Evo's, updated it and made it better along with a few other guys including yourself. If I had PM'd any of you saying "hey want some money?" odds are the wrong person could have got it. I have no problem helping financially AND modding. I am just not going to give one person compensation if it was a group effort. Do you get what I mean?
I'm glad for the features and all and I understand you don't want people to steal your effort, but didn't poehud start by decompiling exilehud? This feels like a pretty shitty move to me.By the way, let me announce that the next version will feature more settings for item alerts: color, sound, and custom map icon. - There's going to be a binary build (with obfucsation).
I liked having the source because I compiled it myself with very slight changes resulting slightly different exe - if felt a bit more secure if GGG will ever want to check for this application.
