Curious, but is anyone experiencing time out issues with the Gateway? I mean, yeah, it's Cryptic, but today, it's been really bad.....

Not today, but two or three days ago it was up and down for maintenance four or five times.

Yeah, I've got 2 toons each with 3-5 slots trying to run tier level jobs, ie Virtuous Symbol +5, +4, +3, +2 and +1 and it's constantly timing out. Even setting the bot to 999 retries, plus move to next task and I'm still getting disconnects. Sucks, too, 'cos I'm at Level 18 on both professions I'm doing. I actually removed one toon's jobs and just set it to deep wilderness gathering, but the other one is still constantly timing out. :/

Yeah, it's something directly related to APBU........ I shut off all my jobs that had multiple tier jobs, only running one doing a couple levels of alchemy research and experimentation. It's still timing out.


Frustrating.



[EDIT] - Ironically, I had forgotten that I changed it back to doing scale +2, scale +1 and scale armor, as well as the alchemy research and experimentation. Now, it's working. -_-

[EDIT 2] - Nevermind, it's doing the exact, same thing. I had to remove the additional assets on the alchemy research to get it to stop bugging out, so it's asset related.

I'm running 6 copies of APBU and 3 of them keep timing out on Character Select.

I have done a hard reboot of the PC and restarted all 6 instances 3 times and it is always the same 3 that keep screwing up.

I can manually access gateway via browser (Firefox) without issue, doesn't even seem slow, but APBU keeps timing out again and again.

It's server related on their side. It's timing out for me, on Firefox, as well. Cryptic isn't known for having spot on servers. Best to just let it lie for a couple of hours to see if they'll fix it. Yeah, it sucks for your AD income, but it's Cryptic. They'll fix it, when they feel like fixing it.

I'll just use the timer on my phone to remind me to come manually cycle through all my accounts in game like I used to do before I discovered APBU.

I refuse to let my elves slack off just because Cryptic is taking a holiday!!!


ETA: Either I got lucky earlier or the trouble is spreading. Now having timeouts on both the Gateway through Firefox and the game itself switching between characters. 3 windows of APBU still running just fine, 3 others can't even select a character.

What provider are you using. I'm stuck with Comcrap for the next two weeks and quite frankly, their service is about as reliable as Cryptic's......



[EDIT] - Yeah, I reset the router and modem, but I'm still getting timeouts through APBU. I can log into the game, as well, with a risk of getting bumped, if I change toons.

Hmmm...... I can ping the gateway without packet loss in 57ms........ I wonder if their servers are taking a dump. The ones that hold character/account info, that is.

I'm on Cablevision/Optimum Online and I've gone through the whole mess of resetting everything from the modem to the router to the switch and the PC. Nothing changes.

3 accounts always work, 3 accounts will not work no matter what I do.

And, no, it isn't just us.
